Forums - Gaming Discussion - Best Games That Are or Will Turn 30 This Year?

Wow 1995 was an off year. I guess Wipeout. I'll name the best that turns 20, God of War.

What do you mean by off?

My vote is for these two games:

Twisted Metal.  Good start to the franchise, although TM2 is my series fav.

Fade to Black, the sequel to Flashback.  Game play wise, FB was better.  But, I just love watching the end credits and music in FtB.  You can see it here at 11m mark.

Terranigma.

This one is an easy and proud vote from me personally despite a few other great games being released in 1995. DKC2 being my 2nd-place vote.
Terranigma is a top tier 4th-gen classic action-JRPG.

I had this game. It's amazing. 10/10 music, 10/10 combat/gameplay, 10/10 graphics & 10/10 story.
It's published by Enix and developed by Quintet which makes it historic. The experience feels like an entire lifetime on a planet. The world is large and highly rememberable.
It came out here in the UK but never got released in America. If it did, it would be much more talked about like how Chrono Trigger, Secret of Mana, Illusion of Gaia, etc.
It's a hidden gem that is slowly coming to light thanks to the internet and our generation of gamers :D
If you've not heard much about this game, your in for a massive (once in a generation) treat, I recommend watching YouTube commentary at least.

There was a lot of games, just nothing really good.

So it's soon to be 30 years since the GOAT - Yoshi's Island - was released. I still remember getting it for Christmas - a lot of good memories there.

Out of the ones you mentioned Chrono Trigger and its not even a competition. Chrono Trigger is a goat amongst goats.

Not to be that guy but, there can only be one goat, as goat means greatest. There can, however, be multiple greats. But only one goat.

But if we're talking greatest, I'm not sure I'd give it to Chrono Trigger. Perhaps if we're talking about 2D RPGs. But overall? That's a monumentally-tough thing to do. I'm not sure I could even do it.

I feel like 1995 was a step back from 1994. If you look at 1994, the list is unreal. Not so with '95.

.

I'm thinking you like it way more than everyone else that played it.  It has a 74.14% on GameRankings and Famitsu gave it a 30/40.  The highest rating it got was a 97% by Nintendo Accion which was a Spanish Nintendo magazine that I never heard of before I looked up the game.

I guess you are one of the few people that never played Resident Evil 4 which is clearly the best game from 2005 and better than God of War.
