I'm currently planning to wait until I get Switch 2 to play Xenoblade Chronicles X. If boosts are supported, that seems like an obvious game. Even a tiny boost is better than nothing. I have a lot of game consoles and games to play that I can wait months if not a year over X launches to play it.

Same

I'm more worried about stock issues than anything to be honest.

I plan to pre-order it the moment it becomes available to.

It'll be my first time pre-ordering a game system lol

Closest to buying day 1 for a game system was Gamecube and PSP (both a month after they were released).

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet really needs the FPS boost.

This is what I'm waiting to see.

Holding off on playing 9th gen.

If there's no changes, I'll just start playing it on my Switch.

The game itself is actually pretty good, the state it is tho... it's beyong shameless.

It can look like a PS1 game and run as poorly as almost freezing in some parts.

I can't imagine many other franchises getting away with a game in such terrible state as Pokémon could.

Visuals I can deal with honestly - its the performance that bothers me lol

On the subject of BC, fingers crossed Nintendo reveals during the April 2nd Direct that boost mode will be a thing. If it is, I don't see why they would wait until after then to reveal it. Then again, it could be some weird post-launch update to Switch. Let's not forget that Xbox One had no BC at all until it was patched in as part of the OS in 2015. A boost mode as a later update doesn't sound as crazy by comparison.
I'm not worried by Nintendo's statement that not every game will be backwards compatible. PS5 has a tiny list of non-compatible PS4 games. Xbox One has a pretty tiny list too but it's due to no Kinect support on Xbox Series. I think the dozen or so games that require IR won't be compatible because there's no IR sensor on Switch 2. And then maybe some titles here and there won't function. But I'm thinking 96-99% or so compatibility of Switch's library.

Lifetime Sales Predictions

Switch: 161 million (was 73 million, then 96 million, then 113 million, then 125 million, then 144 million, then 151 million, then 156 million)

PS5: 115 million (was 105 million) Xbox Series S/X: 40 million (was 60 million, then 67 million, then 57 million. then 48 million)

PS4: 120 mil (was 100 then 130 million, then 122 million) Xbox One: 51 mil (was 50 then 55 mil)

3DS: 75.5 mil (was 73, then 77 million)

Probably it would dampen sales for Switch 1 even more if they reveal it now especially with them potentially releasing a Switch 1 direct next month and a Pokemon Direct.

Anyways, here's hoping there's boost mode too.

A more compact than Lite, with an smaller screen, an NON-TV compatible Switch... could make Switch be more cheaper and make it sold 15 more millions with no problems, with a cheaper competitive price. Something like a standard Smartphone with physical controls. Nintendo did something like that with GB(A) Micro (failed, maybe too small), Wii Mini or 2DS already. Something similar to what Sony did with PS2 slim, which sold lots OF MILLIONS as a cheap DVD player in late 2000s.

But again, as it was said by many, Nintendo maybe will need all the production they can get for the Switch 2, so... Switch life depends very much on the Switch 2 initial success. And Switch 2 is gonna sell HUGE numbers the first 2 months if it gets a nice price.
