OMG OMG I cannot believe an Okami sequel is happening 

Folks online seems to have been experiencing a breakdown over Astrobot winning AOTY

People really took these awards to the heart, Monkey-fans are being particularly toxic

You’re acting as though the awards ceremony is of any actual relevance. That myth should have exploded last year when Keighley gave the GOTY winner the bum’s rush of the stage.

They sound like the same people who took the November US election to heart.

People are really flexing over an illegitimate award show while the GOTY is being outsold by Echoes of Wisdom and Alarmo.

This is the second year in row where a hugely popular Game for the year got snubbed with Palworld and Hogwarts Legacy.

So many release dates for 2025, or developers are not concerned about GTA VI or they are confident that it wont release that year

Imo, I consider people thinking GTA VI will somehow release in 2025 to be the overconfident ones. 

If it's like any of Rockstar latest productions, GTA VI will likely get postponed once or twice at least.

Worse, Rockstar has yet to showcase another trailer to show actual progress on the matter and actual in-game footage of the thing. 

I don't know why they would. I don't even have any desire to play Astro Bot and I think it deserved it's win.

Only part that ever concerned me about the GOTY awards was the voting split, as I feel it should be more community/dev focused, with journos taking a backseat or just not having any sway at all (they have their own power on their own sites anyway). 

The main results of this year were in non-gaming news here. I'd say that's relevance.

Lead producer behind Wukong literally took to social media with a lengthy post expressing how upset he was that his game didn't win. Literally stated that he had prepped his acceptance speech for "Best Game in the World" (aka The Grand Award at Geoff's Advertisement Festival) back in 2022. Also been seeing a lot of Nintendo fans (on Twitter...) expressing their annoyance that the "Mario ripoff" won...you rlly just can't win with the internet.

That being said...Astro sweep! The game made by a humble team of 65 Japanese devs took home the big award. :) Team Asobi did the unthinkable! Never would've imagined a Sony platformer ever winning GotY, let alone be nominated! Such an incredible feat.
