Think of it this way, every other artistic medium has a place in gaming from sketch drawing to paintings to choreography, photography, Film, Music, writing and so on. They all are needed on some level to create a game, If you think of games like this as a sum of all the art that has come before.
Read Dead 2 is a game that left me more emotional through it's game time than I have in years watch film, reading or or viewing traditional art. Now, given the choice between video games and music, it's a tough one, I don't know how I'd choose cause video games without music simply aren't as good and music is such an integral part of living. Probably music is what I most need in life from art but games are what I most enjoy and by far are what are pulling the most emotion from me even if that is sometimes anger and more negative emotions.
