I'm trying to get into FF7 remake again so I can play Rebirth and ai don't get it still. I've never played FF7 past the mission where you sneak into the office building or whatever it was as a kid but Idk, I feel there should be something more for the insanely positive reactions this game has. Ifk what ai'm missing.

Yeah I'm there with you. Presentation, action/combat, and music were top tier, but everything else about the game was disappointing. You could tell the story was stretched incredibly thin. Entire missions had you moving Cloud and another party member from side of rubble to another side of rubble with some fighting of enemies in between and no story progress was made the entire mission. Then the side quests were some of the worst I've ever experienced in a video game. But from what I've heard, side quests are typically not JRPGs strengths, so not sure how much to knock on Remake for that.
I will say that the last third of the game REALLY picks up and offers an exciting conclusion to the game that I thoroughly enjoyed. For Rebirth though going full open world, I just don't have the time for it now, and everyone I know that has played has been disappointed by it. So not sure if I'll ever get around to it.

You called down the thunder, now reap the whirlwind

I know it is hard. But you have to allow yourself to be immersed.
I have similar issues with commonly open world games like TES, Witcher, GTA etc.
But once you somehow get immersed, the experience is so much better.

I'll try for sure. I'll attempt to find the pace of the game as much as it eludes me. The music, vibe and world are amazing even though the characters are ridiculously anime. I'll have to hard pass on Intermission even if I begin to love the game.
