How to get me to buy your game in a few easy steps:

1. Offer me a good and extensive character creator, that I will get myself lost in messing with for at least an hour.

2. Give the characters a range of emotes for me to be expressive with.

3. Give me a game where I can deck my characters in to make them look like they just came out of a circus stripper club.

TLDR:

I will now buy your game(s).

Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.

Mia Winters and Lady Dimitrescu is about it. The characters RE4 already look too fake/plastic. There's Alloy making a brief appearance in CotM and its fun to poke characters in the face and ears in that game lol. (Imagine having to mocap the reactions haha)

However the rest is all low poly, low detail. I got more 'presence' from characters on PSVR1 than PSVR2. The higher resolution and lower detail characters just makes them look fake.

Yeah, there's definitely something to the screen door effect, my quest 2 doesn't have it as much and it felt like something is missing. It's there in porn but in games it's much so lessened. And speaking of porn... do they still have that RAD app where you can sideload porn onto it?

Yeah if you want to put up with horrible quality, mostly AI generated crap, glitches, and pay in BitCoin for streampass, a NFT subscription. It's a grift.
You can also subscribe for $5 a month with a credit card, cannot just buy it.

You need the premium subscription to sideload content.

Can you please explain the GIFs. They are confounding me. Especially the first picture, what foes it mean...

The first picture is a meme based on how certain anthro based characters or "gruff" looking ones are depicted in games, whilst the female side is often depicted as "cutesy/dainty". The meme suggests providing more options/more characters that can defy normal visual expectations (like Resident Evil 8 for example, how everyone simps for the "dommy mommy" Lady Dimitrescu, and how people like her for how she acts, as well as being a giant woman).

The second gif is a gameplay snippet from a new game called Amber Isle, which is basically Animal Crossing meets Moonlighter, but with anthro Dino/Mammal NPC's (you yourself can create your own character of either type).

The third one is a recently released early access, Action RPG called ATLYSS. You can play it with friends or on your own. The game comes with an extensive character creation menu that pretty much defies the silly sliders you'd find in Dragon Age Veilguard (you can actually increased breast/chest/Bottom sizes however you wish.

Atlyss itself is currently popping off amongst multiple communities (furry, Vtuber, streamers in general, etc), and it's one game I'm personally keeping an eye on, since it looks fun and harkens back the PS1 action RPG days for me. Amber Isle is another game I'm looking to buy, since it's combining two games I enjoyed playing over the years (Moonlighter & Animal Crossing).

Very much true.

Beauty and sexiness bring joy to most human beings. Video games are entertainment, and entertainment should bring joy.

Attractive characters substantially improved my enjoyment of games like Bayonetta, Nier Automata, Stellar Blade, Witcher 3, Resident Evil, Tears of the Kingdom, Tomb Raider, etc.

There's also the issue of confidence..Being good looking typically makes people more confident and consequently someone being good looking makes us assume they have self-confidence.
Thus attractive characters give impression of confidence which is a heroic and admirable quality (and itself attractive).

That's the real difference why I (and I believe most others) like old Lara Croft more than new. She was a badass.
Although that gets me started on another matter: realism vs epic heroism.
Not only in games but also movies and TV series there's been a trend of moving towards realism. The Batman was the most realistic version of Batman - and IMO as such most boring.
This aim for realism is often what leads to less attractive characters as, let's face it, exaggerated features are attractive and sexy. It also means more serious storytelling and less plain fun. Oppositely when a game is more fun entertainment, you'll enjoy more about characters being attractive.

Ah I see. So you're a furry then?

I mean I like anime, animation/art, and happen to own multiple characters of my own that I wish to draw/world build with, but yes, I would be one of those.

I just find anthro characters more interesting due to differences in species/designs, and the range of movements/expressions you can get from them in different mediums.

(My avatar selection is one indication if anything to go by).

Replace these two below with two characters from Concord and tell me if it would have been the same game.

If the characters are not going to be hot then at least make them badass looking. If wanted to spend the little free time I have watching ugly and/or boring people, I would just look outside my window.

Marvel Rivals gets it. Now, they obviously have the IP and fan base secured so we can't compare it to games that have come and gone like Concord but the fact that they didn't uglify the characters and got the designs roght woth good cosmetics, I would reckon helps the numbers.
I'm not into it but very cool to see.
