Im on Echoes of Wisdom, looks cute but the gameplay makes it much better than it looks. The echoe abilities and puzzle are fun, tho mostly easy but I did only the first 3 dungeons so far.

Its worth going out of your way to find all echoes especially ones like platboom, makes things a lot easier and less tedious to reach high places.

Bought Terminator Resistance on sale for 11 euro. It's not good nor is it outright bad overall, it's terrible in some places but for some reason I'm still playing. It's kinda like Bethesda dropped DLC for Fallout 4 with a cross over to the Terminator franchise. Something about it is sticky right from the start but it's certainly far from a good game.

It's fantastic. My Quests controller developed a drift about 3 hours in so I never got experience any of the really intense stuff. There's really not much in RE4 that is scary though compared to RE7 anyway.

I still have 7 and village on my backlog. Not sure if I will make it through 7, from what I read it is a lot more scary than 4 remake.

What platform would you suggest for 7. I could play it on the original PSVR or with the VR Mod on Steam using a quest 3

Oh PSVR1 is the only one I played it on, I'm not sure I'd recommend it if it's on newer platforms but back in 2017 at least it was really something else. I hear that VR tech getting too good, something Svennoj actually echoed here in a thread recently, has taken away a sense of immersion and believability, that the fake lighting, the screen door effect and the blurry resolution all played a part in making those early VR games so impactful, especially the horror genre games and the games now lack the same feel but tbh, IDK which you should play it on cause I haven't played VR since a few months after Quest 2 launched.

Currently playing through Dragon Quest Builders 2. I really enjoyed the first game, but DQB2 blows it away by a mile. This game has a lot more content and QoL features than the first game.

If you have ps4 pro (or play on PS5 with adapter) then RE7 is perfectly fine on PSVR. (There is quite a drop in resolution on base PS4 with very aggressive static foveated rendering and drop to lower res when running)

But on PSVR you are playing in 960x1080 per eye, over 110 degrees that comes to VHS quality. Which is perfectly fine for the horror genre and actually engages your imagination more than seeing everything super clearly. Quest 3 might reveal the age of the game a bit too clearly.

PSVR1 is about 9 pixels per degree with full binocular overlap, while Quest 3 is 22 pixels per degree with about 80 degree binocular overlap.

However the PSVR version uses the Dualshock controller only, you aim with your head movements. (No idea if PCVR mod lets you use quest controllers for aiming) It works but can feel rather weird when targeting things close to you. (Like you shoot from your eyes, not from the gun lol)

Otherwise everything works. (Random clip later on, so cool to look through windows)

I started Hitman WoA on PSVR2.

It's great to finally have a new big game on PSVR2 but it's rough. It's like devs don't play their own game?

First of all the lighting is calibrated for recording, you tube output... There are no blacks nor shadow detail in VR, just grey highlighting the Mura effect. There's no HDR either, it all has a rather washed out look in the headset (but it looks good on recordings go figure)

But detail is not bad, ps3 level graphics at 60fps with higher resolution. Graphics are clean just not all that immersive.

Now the issues:

- Play sitting, can't reach holsters nor ammo.
The holsters are under my legs in the couch cushions, ammo is under my crotch inside the couch. I have to uncomfortably sit on the edge of the couch and lean/bend forward to be able to get the guns and ammo.
- 2 handed weapons are almost impossible to hold steady with slight drift (2 controllers, one obstructing the view of the other, whose brilliant idea was that). It's much easier to aim with one hand but the sniper rifle requires 2 hands with a terrible scope and I simply can't hold the thing steady. I was stuck on that part in the tutorial for 20 minutes ffs.
- Why am I 7 foot tall, looking over everyone, while my holsters are still underneath me... I can stand up a bit recalibrate and sit back down to get to my own height yet that only pushes the holsters further down lol.

What works: Throwing items with eye tracking, can't miss!
Walking/running speed and smooth turn speed are great.

Anyway another game I would rather play with the regular dualsense than having to use janky VR controls. It makes me feel like a 7 foot incompetent toddler fumbling with the most basic items. The 'thrill' of holding virtual items in VR and body inventory, has left the building, devs simply can't get it right. Bring back the buttons :/

You often get discussion around is game x really a game, are walking sim really “games” etc but what I will say is … We Are OFK is 100% not a game. The game is split into 5 parts, each around 1-1.5hrs long and they end in a music video which is the only part of the game you move the character. You just pick a dialogue option every 3-5m. There’s also zero dialogue skip … I fully recommend this game if you’re someone who hates video games. The soundtrack is fantastic tho tbf.

You have to see it through, you're almost back at 100%. Treat your self to something large and envolved after this, I'd recommend Black Myth Wu Kong or Like A dragon Gaiden if you want something a bit smaller in scope, both are amazing platinums and Gaiden is on PS extra, bout the same size as Alan Wake 2 actually if you realize how to set things up and fluke the late game side grind. Maybe 30+ hours if you blunt fo4ce the grind.

I picked up Terminator Resistance not knowing why and I remember now it was on your recommendation and it's the same people that done Robo Cop which was a good game. It's sticky, it's like a Terminator themed Fallout 4 DLC but it's certainly not a great or even good game, just really sticky for some reason. Really hard to rate it as it's terrible in places and looks worse than it actually is, average doesn't even cut it as a description.

Push Square put out a review of Khazan and they said the stanima and posture meter combination issue gets better into the game. I now really wanna g8ve the game the benefit again. They gave it a 6 out of 10. I'm trying to have patience and Rise of The Ronin is just 10 euro more. God I hate when an itch gets you this bad and you're left paralysed, I know I'll be severely frustrated with Khazans inconsistencies and forced defensive play but I can't let it go, I just might have to try regardless.

Edit: Rise of the Ronins digital deluxe edition was on sale below 60, I grabbed it ad the base game sales are only 50 anyway. I reckon this will tide me over.

Big dissing the Terminator!. I didn’t find it too bad, deffo scratched the itch I had at the time for an FPS. Sometimes I don’t need a masterpiece I just need my brain to be fed 😁 Still debating starting something longer, not really feeling it. Got a few games to play from now through April, AW2 DLC, TLOU2 update, Bloom & Rage tape 2 also releases so I’ll finally start tape 1 and I just picked up The Big Con In the sales which I enjoyed on Xbox a few years back.
