It's fantastic. My Quests controller developed a drift about 3 hours in so I never got experience any of the really intense stuff. There's really not much in RE4 that is scary though compared to RE7 anyway.

I still have 7 and village on my backlog. Not sure if I will make it through 7, from what I read it is a lot more scary than 4 remake.

What platform would you suggest for 7. I could play it on the original PSVR or with the VR Mod on Steam using a quest 3

If you have ps4 pro (or play on PS5 with adapter) then RE7 is perfectly fine on PSVR. (There is quite a drop in resolution on base PS4 with very aggressive static foveated rendering and drop to lower res when running)

But on PSVR you are playing in 960x1080 per eye, over 110 degrees that comes to VHS quality. Which is perfectly fine for the horror genre and actually engages your imagination more than seeing everything super clearly. Quest 3 might reveal the age of the game a bit too clearly.

PSVR1 is about 9 pixels per degree with full binocular overlap, while Quest 3 is 22 pixels per degree with about 80 degree binocular overlap.

However the PSVR version uses the Dualshock controller only, you aim with your head movements. (No idea if PCVR mod lets you use quest controllers for aiming) It works but can feel rather weird when targeting things close to you. (Like you shoot from your eyes, not from the gun lol)

Otherwise everything works. (Random clip later on, so cool to look through windows)
