Kinda easy to get playing Ghost of Tsushima again after a long pause, usually one would want to restart a game like this bit it's so forumalic and the story so uninteresting it's nice, I just enjoy going round and clearing the map and fighting. Can't remember anything about weapon stances but I doesn't seem to matter anyway. It's not a bad game but It's not exactly great either. I didn't mind the protagonist at first but now I kinda do because she's very bland and flat, she touches on the same problem as Aloy, things around her remain interesting as with Aloys story but she herself is off putting and bland to the point of repulsion.

I find the major issue with Alloy is the VA for her does a terrible job at making me like the character. She delivers her lines (especially in Forbidden West) with such an exasperated tone as if every world is so much effort. It’s annoying as fuck. Also I assume you meant Yotie not Tshushima?

I fell off Project Snowblind on PS2. Replaying Gears of War Reloaded and VanQuish for the 8086469th time

Yotei, yep. Indeed, Aloys VA sounds like she's trying a really poor imitation of a 1930's private detective in a noir film.

Metal Eden feels okay to play, a bit floaty but I get what they are going for. I suspect a brief Doom 2016 experience however I seen Space Marine 2 is on PS extra so I might slide into that or try for both.

Dipping in and out of Ghost of Yotei and Baldurs Gate 3. It's hare to get motivated to play for any meaningful time.

I've taken a break from modern gaming and gone back to some emulation. Booted up Emperor's New Groove on Duckstation with the CRTLottes2 CRT filter. Damn near looks identical to the original thing. Of course, I tweaked other graphical settings to try to make it look nearly identical to the original PS1 version. Doesn't make up for the real thing, but until I'm able to have additional funds to buy original hardware, this will have to do. And it looks great still!

What a banger of a soundtrack!!!

Whoever came up with the jaguar chasing level though.......my fingers hate you!

Loved Metal Eden. Def an arcadey sci fi Doom.  Space Marine 2 is excellent and while not the same kind of gameplay. Bits of it bring back OG Gears vibes.

Have you tried going on an indie binge? Seeing those credits roll after 1-5hrs is a dopamine hit after hit. I do one every 1-2yrs depending on how burnt out from bigger games I am. Currently at game #11 of mine and it’s fun, replaying some games I love, finding some hidden gems that I would have otherwise have ignored. Definitely how I keep motivation to keep playing games. You should try it :)
