Trying Final Fantasy X. I am about 7.5 hours into it. When does it get good?? Story is boring and gameplay is pretty basic. So far it has been a snoozefest. Granted I’ve never been a fan of the series in the first place, but I also didn’t play that many, and now I am trying what is considered one of the best. Hopefully it does get good eventually.

I don't think it will. I think you have a pretty good idea of what the game is like. If you're not into it, it's probably just not your thing.

Sometimes you just have to accept that despite a game's reputation, it just might not be your jam. I was trying to play through Majora's Mask and at a certain point just had to accept, nope not for me. My time can be better spent on things I would enjoy more.

In the minority here but never got the love for X. The story is awful. Never gets any better and the blitzball sections can eat a fat one. VI,IX,VII,XII are my faves in the series. A lot of the problems people shat on XIII for are also present in X. Both games lame tbh. If you have not tried the ones I mentioned, do so. As for modern ones. Mostly meh but FF7 Remake and Rebirth are pretty good.  Origin is a spinoff but fun. I played much much better games than FFX back then even.

Oh yes, did the first game of blitzball, fuck that shit.

I will give it some more time, but if it doesn’t hook me in the next 10 hours, I’ve had enough. Some games you just wonder why they have a fanbase in the first place. So far only the FMVs and the music have been redeeming qualities. Hopefully it does pick up momentum.

I played through FFXII back in the day. Can’t say I was blown away, but it had much more going for it than FFX (so far) that is for sure! It had a really strong opening that really pulled you in to the gameplay. The combat was unique and the exploration solid. But I also remember feeling it was a bit too lengthy and a bit grindy at times.

For whatever reason I never finished FFVII, despite making it a third into the game or so. But sure, from what I have experienced, that is probably the best of the series.

Never played FFIX or FFVI.

Blitzball is literally my favorite thing about the game XD.

Its not like a good sports game but i found it really fun trying to find ways to break the game and run up crazy numbers on the computer. That is one aspect which id say actually does get better.

I'm enjoying silent hill f and Cairn , for now.

Ffx is one of my favorite games of all time and stands for 25 years as the second best game ever made(ff7 is nr1)  if it doesnt grab you in the first hours its just not your game.

I loved the characters/yuna and lulu ftw.

I loved the heartfelt story and the end hits hard.

The music is godtier and the graphics back then where mindblowing on consoles at the time

Blitzball is..wel..meh.

I also loved the battle system, heck i stil do since i still play the game here and there.

FFX is always in my top 3 FF games and after X FF went downhill for me.

edit.

Had to take a break from Planet of Lana 2. It’s definitely not a game to play when in a pretty bad mood. After around 3hrs I don’t think it’s better than the first. Controls feel slow and its push for a more challenging sequel just doesn’t do it for me. I’ll finish it like I finish everything but it’s a very weak sequel so far.

Ride The Chariot | ‘26 Completed

I'm back into Puzzling Places, simple relaxing gameplay, building stuff.

Currently building the 1,000 piece variant of the Sari Deul Temple.

There is a whole (irregular shaped) interior as well, ranks up there with the most challenging puzzles in the game. Takes about 10 hours to complete one of these complex 1,000 piece puzzles. And that's in simple mode, chopped up into 10 (irregular) sets of 100 pieces.

Fun building these large puzzles, taller than myself when it's finished.

Minishoot Adventures

Completed it and damn it is great, hard to describe but the 2D Zelda in shooter form sounds right, explore, challenges to overcome, level up and get better gear it has it all and a must play!

Lately I've played Doom 2016 and Doom Eternal for the first time and the former was great and the latter is even better. I had been meaning to play them for a while but after getting a new PC last year and a new monitor a few weeks ago it felt like perfect timing to give the Doom series a try. The first one was a lot of fun but the gameplay in Eternal is outright amazing thanks to the insane mobility you get from the double dash and the meat hook so I'm a little concerned now that other FPS games that have more standard mobility might feel more dull going forward.
