They weren't kidding when they said next generation RPG with BG3, Holy shit, this is one deep ass systems basd game. The characters are starting to grow on me mostly cause of camp and I have to say camp is much better than in Divinity OS where you spam regen spells at the team in between fights, the short rest and long rest system is perfect and it gets you talking to the team without having to stop after every majour scenario and keep checking updates or wait for an marker over head. I finally get the game and I love that you can kill someone in a town and not have the entire area come down on you making you too OP for your difficulty level or making grinding XP too difficult for higher difficulties and while the elemental systems take a bit of a back of a back seat the barrels are still here and I can send them straight to camp to stock up, no dragging them across the map or TPing back to base and stacking them and being locked out of bringing them to later acts I have to assume. I have been playing this game expecting Divinity OS but it's not, I should have been expecting a really refined version of Wrsth of the Righteous with some existing layers of Divinity OS coming over. I now know this won't be a case of Divinity OS where you try to do the majority of stuff available, like 75% but more of a cut a 50% path through the progress anyway and now that I've settled that in my mind I think I'm gonna enjoy this one even if I miss so many aspects of Divinity OS.

I loved Baldur’s Gate 3 but it never left a lasting impression on me as strong as Divinity Original Sin 2 did and honestly if I had to choose the better game it would be DoS2 every single time.

I can see this being my take too after my first playthrough but if what I'm doing now isn't some we'll disguised trick, I think a second playthrough might sway my opinion. I have half a mind to reload just before the goblin camp to see if I can make every single choice and dialogue differently and I do believe I could for the majority of it.

Are you doing a Dark Urge playthrough? Honestly my favourite way to play through that game. You can be so delightfully evil it’s great 😆

Baldurs Gate 3 is great but it's so baked with choice and freedom that it feels lesser than the Divinity series. It feels more like Path Finder: Wrath of The righteous but with AAA budget. Tbh, there's something to be said about leaving a game designed as a table top simulator to the imagination. I feel the game would benifet from a tighter design as with Divinity and not being bound by D&D lore so they could get whimsical with the quests. The thing about Divinity OS is it's so light hearted with goof ball stuff and silly little jokes planted all around, in almost everything and that it takes the edge off the overwhelming size of these games, it adds so much fun and like I said, that tighter feel and gameification but the game is pretty much what I expected and want, something between DOS and Wrath Of the Righteous. Also, mods on console are great but they disable trophies, wtf like, why do cosmetic mods do that. I gotta choose and I think I'll stick with the trophies even though it would be fun to fiddle with some of the listed mods.

BG3 is quite terrible as BG game, very average as D&D 5e game and quite good as usual Larian's "megadungeon crawler theme park masquerading as full blown CRPG".

No. I wanted to get as many of the cast in my party as possible, Gave up on my own character to have more space. I might do it again in a year or two but I seen some of the stuff you can do, not really for me but if it means more ways to deal with the world, I might take it up.
