For me? I think it's FF16. It was a masterpiece, imo, and only got crap for being different. It's the first FF I couldn't stop playing since FFX.

FF16's issues are a plenty and have nothing to do with being different. Plenty of FF games are different and loved. The combat system is overly simple. It's not even great for ARPG when Origins did a better job. For all the hype of having a DMC combat director, it's as shallow as it gets with none of the depth or nuance of DMC. The female characters are all written horribly. Evil for the sake of it, And others like Jill suddenly become helpless damsels for no good reason. It's not an RPG when I can kill fire enemies with fire attacks. That's just nonsense. Again something Origin did better. The side quests are awful. The second half of the game drags and the pacing is overly long. I did like the giant boss fights as those were done by Platinum Games. Rebirth and Origin are good ARPGs that are actual ARPGs. Pretty much any issue 16 has Rebirth and Origin lack.

Again. The Witcher 3.

There's much I have yet to play but with the next gen Patch I can't see it being dethroned. I'm hopeful Baldurs Gate 3 will be good enough to move it out of the top spot but after 20 hours, I'm not so sure it's well adapted to console with the scroll menus even though it's fantastic so far.
Of I were to choose first party, From what I've played Returnal is the best so far. Quite disappointed in Demon souls remake, perhaps that game was over rated to begin with but it's definitely the best looking by far. GTA6 might take the spot if R* evolves their quest design to be less linear and more intertwined like an RPG and they add RPG choice elements among a few other things the series needs changing on but the main characters look uninteresting and the tone is too true to life, I have my doubts. Fingers crossed The Witcher Polaris is released this gen and doesn't become another Cybperpunk situation where you have to own a monster rig or upgrade to 10th gen to play the game thebway it's meant to be played.

Oh. Ty.

Returnal so far. Gonna play Rachet and Clank now after Metaphor so perhaps that will beat it, looks really good and beatable, returnal doesn't seem like a game that would be beatable unless the formula changes somehow. Pretty disappointed by Demon souls so far but I'm early in it yet, seems too overly simple after Elden Ring. But yeah, Returnal actually hooked me straight away and still has me playing in between sessions of Metaphor, really cool game but so many PS5 titles yet to try.

It can be multi platform in the sense that it’s a next Generation game. Just not on PS4. I imagine this thread will probably not Have nearly as many choices as the previous one did considering that we are only halfway through the GEN and a lot of games released on multiple consoles. In retrospect, maybe I should have PS4 and PS5 together

Demons Souls is my favorite exclusive.

Demon. Still the best souls game, IMO. And it looks and plays amazing.

No cross-generation? I suppose that leaves out Forbidden West, Elden Ring, God of War:Ragnarök, Octopath Traveler II and quite a few others. My list would then be:

1. Final Fantasy VII Rebirth
2. Final Fantasy XVI
3. A Plague Tale:Requiem
4. Astro's Playroom

Do you think that’s a bad call? It’s awkward this gen because last gen hasn’t completely ended still.

I'm fine with it otherwise, but had I known it beforehand I would have nominated at least Elden Ring and Forbidden West for PS4 then. The experiences are just better on PS5, so I was planning on leaving them for this one. Now they just kind of get lost in between the two generations, and Elden Ring is probably my second favourite game counting all of PS4 and PS5 games.

For exclusives, its Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart and Astro Bot for me both fantastic. Lowkey Stellar Blade is way better than it had any right to be.

For non-exclusive games that released for the console, Elden Ring and Unicorn Overlord are the ones ive played the most, so theyd be my pick.

I find it overly simple and no weapons or Gear are dropping for me, I put it on hold cause I don't know what I'm missing, about it. It doesn't feel like souls for some reason but it certainly is the best looking game. Looks nearly photo Real at times in certain lighting.
