The original game pushed the Wii U hard and its natural environments are still good looking to this day, so if they can improve the draw distance, resolution and textures it could really pop, at least by "Wii U remaster on Switch" standards.

It is nice that they're going the extra mile instead of just doing the bare minimum.

The confirmation of extra story content is nice to hear; it could also use a few QoL tweaks to bring it up to modern standards, but the amount of effort they've put into other aspects is promising.

Hopefully we getting a UI overhaul with this one too considering the OG has a huge problem of readability and some real small characters on screen. It's quasi unreadable if you're far away from the TV or don't squint. Also some aspects that were clearly not explained as well as it should've since they expected you to read the "online manual".

Good opportunity to make a do-over there

(Nevermind, I tried to make a small font joke and it kinda blew up in my face!)

If this exact release had happened in 2017, the discourse around the Switch and its power would have been different. The fact that Breath of Wild could not run at 1080p and a fully locked 30 FPS on Switch despite having exactly the same base assets as the Wii U version was taken as proof by some that the Switch was more underpowered than it really was and barely any better than the Wii U. A game that really pushed the Wii U getting not only the common bump to 1080p but improved textures, character models, and LOD on Switch is pretty much unheard of to my knowledge, and proves that it could have been done in other games but wasn't. It's usually only Gamecube and Wii games that get this much effort put into improving their visuals. Maybe it's a good thing, because games like Captain Toad, Mario Kart 8, DK Tropical Freeze, and Bayonetta 2 would have faced greater scrutiny for not putting in the effort Monoliftsoft put in here.

FAST Racing Neo to FAST RMX was a substantial jump, going from a reconstructed 720p on Wii U to a native dynamic 1080p on Switch with a new lighting model.

Even 9 years later, this game still has some of the most epic landscapes in gaming, despite the hardware it was built for being a gen behind even back then.

Really goes to show the value of style and optimization over raw power.

That trailer was something else. One of the best Nintendo has pulled off. And without a single fighting sequence. Just pure landscapes and exploration.

Great for fans, but seriously. How the **** do we not have Wind Waker HD and Twilight Princess on the switch?!!?

And here I am still waiting for the price to drop on the original!

Unfortunately greedy Nintendo won't allow that. I'm still waiting for the Nintendo Select / Player's Choice!!

Because Nintendo is not Sony.

Legend11 correctly predicted that GTA IV will outsell Super Smash Bros. Brawl. I was wrong.

True.  It isn't like Bayo 2, DK TF, Mario 3D, Pikmin 3, Super Mario Wii-U, Skyward Sword, Prime HD, etc have been ported.  Not like Sony at all.

The only game in your list that is on more than two consoles is Metroid Prime.
