Forums - Sony Discussion - Ps5, new owner. Got money for one game to start with, suggestions?

I..

...am happy with my ps5 21 63.64%

...am unhappy with my ps5 1 3.03%

Find my ps5 mediocre. 5 15.15%

I don't own a ps5. 6 18.18%

Total:33

I'll soon be an owner of a PS5. The console is the easy part, figuring out where to start and what to catch up on is harder. I have money for one game. I see Rift apart on sale but that doesn't feel attractive atm and the game I most want to play is Baldaurs Gate 3 but I don't wanna start a really long RPG while in the middle of Metaphor Refantazio.

What would you suggest? Anything specific?

Is there any exclusive PS5 indie titles that I should take note of. Also, I don't really care about graphics but I'd like to see something that shows improvement over PS4 PRO as well as it being a good game.

Hard not to start off with Astro Bot lol. You get a copy of the tech demo Astro's Playroom bundled with your PS5. It's a short 3-5 hour game. Then once you're done, you can immediately hop into Astro Bot. Playroom introduces pretty much all the mechanics you'll use in Astro Bot.

I'll suggest several things since there's not a one-size fits all solution.

Play Astro's Playroom which comes pre-installed.
From there, here are some choices
-Marvel's Spider-Man 2
-Astro Bot
-Final Fantasy VII Remake or Final Fantasy VII Rebirth if you already played Remake.
-Final Fantasy XVI: It has some notable flaws but is great.
As far as indies? Very few exclusives that aren't meh or bad. There is this (Finger Fitness) which is cheap and a PS5 exclusive but almost exclusively for EZ quick trophies.

Very nice, Yeah. I'll hop into Playroom of it's free, nice bonus. I see the Dead Space remake is free on ps+ too so I got that hor Halloween.

FF7 Rebirth (or FF7 Remake Integrade if you never played it yet because it comes first in the series). Best game I played this year

Oh yeah, the Dead Space remake was fantastic! As time has gone on, I actually prefer the Dead Space remake over the Resident Evil 4 remake.

I highly recommend Silent Hill 2 though if you're ever able to get around to it, or even Alan Wake 2. Perhaps plan for next Halloween

Gran Turismo 7 is freaking great, but I doubt that's your kind of game or you would have mentioned it.

If you didn't play God of War Ragnarok yet and have played the one before it, then easy choice. Same with Horizon Forbidden West, it looks amazing but GoW is the best game.

As people pointed, try Astro's Playroom and if you like it Astro Bot is your game, it's pure bliss from start to finish.

About exclusive indie games... Stray is not exclusive but kinda was as it was timed console exclusive on release, if you like cats you will LOVE it.

Astrobot or demons souls remake.

Basically a good exclusive that isn't on PC (I'm assuming you have one)

I'm big into GT, bought them all except gt6. Beat GT7 on PS4 PRO already. I might upgrade if there is an option, that'd be a good one to see the graphics plus I need it on PS5 anyway for when I get a used PSVR2. Thanks for the suggestions, played them all on PS4 PRO though.

Oh YES. I forgot about Demon souls, I think that's the perfect place to start, should show graphics and I love souls games. Thank you 👊
