The visual quality is very likely better than the switch. Software emulation is not exactly ideal.

Oh I get it, that makes a lotta since. It's basically an N64 for modern TV's. Cool.

Exactly! I've used adapters for my original N64, and the picture just does NOT look good at all I've seen people get DIY kits that adds an HDMI port on your N64, but I'm not much of a hardware engineer lol.

They did a great job in making look like an N64 too. It's currently just in black and white, but like the Analogue Pocket, I'm sure they'll come out with Limited Editions at some point. Of course they still include an SD card slot for those that want to emulate other consoles on the device or whatever you want.

Yeah, looks incredible, modern yet 90's. Really cool.

I still have my N64... And use a line doubler integer upscaler to provide a crisp and clean image.

I don't think I would bother with this, tempted as I may be.

I prefer to play on original hardware.
I still have my original N64 I got for Christmas 1998, and it still works just fine. Still got my SNES and it still works too for that matter.

They built stuff to last back then; I doubt my Switch or PS5 will still be in working order three decades from now.

Not getting one, but I'm glad it's finally happening. Hardware recreation of original hardware via FPGAs is really the best way of preserving those old machines for future, and we're finally into 100% compatibility territory with some of the first 3D generation consoles.

Still don't own a Analog system as they always show up when I am broke. I do have original hardware for my collection but I also own a Hyperkin MEGA HD. The Hyperkin SNES and they play everything I throw at them just fine. Also have a Polymega. Just the base unit. Mostly been good but a couple disc games would not work but they were burned discs so whatever. I'd prob sell my soul for a FPGA Saturn/Dreamcast system tho.

I think Saturn is not that far off. I don't follow this particular field that much, but, IIRC, PSX core for MISTer is great, not sure where Satrun one is at the moment.

I only own two N64 games, and one of them I do not even like. Played most of the N64 games on emulation or rereleases.
I think it is really cool that there still are companies that bring this type of product to the market. Was very tempted on buying an analogue pocket, but the price was a bit to high so I went for a modded GBA instead.

Looks cool, but nah. Retroarch works like a chanp.

I will say that while this isn't for me, I do think it is cool that it exists, for the sake of having more options for experiencing older games.
Some of the best games of all time came out on long dead consoles, and they deserve to live on, which this enables.
