Because there's only 35 N64 games on Switch and the Analogue 3D plays all 388 games that ever released on N64. But most importantly, this device is primarily meant to play your physical collection. So this is for those that want to play from their cartridges. 

It's a very niche product, but it's the best way to play N64 games in a modern way. Whereas on Switch, Nintendo is trying to emulate the original experience. 

Oh I get it, that makes a lotta since. It's basically an N64 for modern TV's. Cool.
