It looks godly amounts of fun. Funnily enough it releases on PS4 the end of next month.

I seen some of returnal ms bosses, they look bad ass. Can't wait to play it on the cheap.
Dead cells and Hades do be the ones I like the most.
I struggle with roguelikes, Returnal I'm on biome 3 and hades im in the 2nd area. I play them on and off

Same as you. 3rd area on Hades is where it gets brutal for me, I can master it with a good build but then I get to the the 3rd boss and no matter how lucky I get I still falter. They made the game a little bit too difficult after that second boss, I feel without adding significant upgrades to help you through.
It's odd to think that while they are designed to be played over and over, for me, this type of gameplay wears thin, depending on the rogue like game. However, based on the hours Slay The Spire is probably my "favourite". Few hundred hours on PC and PS5.
Meanwhile, Hades for example, is a superb game, I played the story, got loads of extra stuff but then just stopped. I had my fill. I tested myself once on it, started complete fresh, beat REDACTED in 4 runs.
Gungeon. The end grind of that was put me off a lot. Darkest Dungeon, I've also played a lot but you wanna know something, never went into the main dungeon ever. I just presumed you needed to level up, did then someone died then I got sad, stopped play, picked it up again and started again. :P
Most others, I stopped early if I wasn't enjoying the unlock/progress procedure. This includes Returnal, got to the boss once and could never make it back after so many runs, if you 'skip' areas, you are weaker so why would you skip, so i'd struggle to ever get back to there.
Hmm, pie.
I dunno what all of the Rogue subgenres are but I like Balatro, Hades, and Dead Cells. Probably Hades the best of the threee.
Don’t Starve Together
I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.
The last roguelike I liked a lot was "Cavernous Wastes" Descent clone with procedural level generation in VR.
I have yet to play Returnal even though I bought it at launch. Shame on me.
Hades is one of the finest games ever crafted in the history of gaming. It should win this poll. I have beaten it will all the weapons and still play it from time to time. Just absolutely fantastic.
