I love Eternal Darkness but I feel like a remake would miss the wow factor the original created. It would be great for new players but how could they do the psychological stuff to people that are already expecting it?

Should be fine. PS1 added animated cutscenes but what held the PS1 back were the load times. Something modern hardware won't have an issue with. Hell, even the DS version which was the PS1 version solved that.

I don't believe Chrono Trigger is on the playstation store, but it's kind of sequel Chrono Cross is on playstation store I think the only place to play Chrono Trigger legally on the current consoles would be on steam, but I heard the pc version is a poor port of it.

Crono Cross is a good RPG but it's no Crono Trigger. You can go back and forth on the OSTs tho as they both have top-tier OSTs.

They were about to lose the right to Tony Hawk and wouldn't have been able to finish the remake.

I think it is time for a Halo 3 remake. Or, at least a serious remaster, akin to the 10th anniversary version of Halo CE.
The 20th anniversary (2027) would be a good time for a new Halo 3.
