Yes, political bias is a hell of a drug.

Thanks for proving my point.

I find it interesting I couldn't post in this thread without being dogpiled by a dozen people ensuring me I don't know what I'm talking.  They sure are quiet this morning and I hear nothing but crickets.

I immediately thought of this recent video after reading your posts. What can happen when politics and intelligence/education/IQ collide?

They don't matter in any kind of broader sense. If you think that is some kind of gotcha, then I think you had a very poor scientific/mathematic education; because this is basic stuff.

There's a reason why studies get repeated. There's a reason why studies require large sample sizes. There's a reason why people often do double blind studies. There's a reason why randomness is important for polling. There's a million different things that get done to remove errors and different biases.

Random one-off incidents that have 100 different possible causes, are not even worth talking about without more information.

It's legitimately terrifying to me that neither of you two seem to understand how difficult it is to get to the truth of different matters.

Oh ok, you did find something worse than everything put forth so far. On the rankings of arguments we have:

1. Studies and stats

2. Anecdotal evidence

3. Vaguely gesturing at something and then a meme.

Political bias is a hell of a drug.

jesus fucking christ could we try just responding like a coherent adult?

Here I'll start:

I think that one's views of large scale reality should be based on large scale data. I shouldn't base my view of the American economy on the gas price at my local station but rather larger scale information. Just like I shouldn't decide that illegal immigrants are all violent criminals if I get mugged by one one day or any other thing from a random single event because that's not a good way to arrive at the truth. I take issue with Legit's post because it seems as though he's basing his view of facebook's bias off a single event that he has no way of knowing was even a direct choice of facebook let alone why they did that. On the other hand we have actual studies of the overall policy and their effects on political content and it seems that right wing content gets a boost. In this case I think that the studies are much more likely to be true than Legit's understanding based off not getting an invite for a birthday party.

Now you go, how do you disagree with that above?

You seem to think my responses are incoherent. If the member I was conversing with didn't understand, why didn't they say so?

The response I got, below from Pi, who I've been conversing with, shows they understood based on their snarky smart ass projective reply to me.

I disagree, about my point being misunderstood. Maybe you didn't get it, but the post you took issue with wasn't a reply to you, it was to Pi.

To try and keep it short, last week my buddy quickly and kind of indirectly taught his young kids something, and based on the look of their faces, I automatically assumed they didn't understand, which didn't surprise me. When I pointed this out to him, he, and they, said they understood, and in unison, funny enough. I found this hard to believe and questioned the kids and they clearly did get it, which did surprise me. Afterwards, I didn't go after and attack my buddy because I thought he didn't explain it the way I think he should've, because what do I care as long as the point got across to who it was intended for?

How many people come to this site, at some point, who lurk, or want to join, but don't bother anymore because they can't understand what we're saying because they don't know English (very well)? Do we all need to start learning and posting in different languages, or is it up to them to deal with it however they decide to?

I also don't find the 'I know you are but what am I' undertone reply below, to be adult or mature, but you didn't seem to have a problem with it for some reason. Maybe you didn't understand it either. Perhaps Pi should get a reply from you to confirm.

Will the OP electoral map be getting updated?

The point is that America has created a big problem, and that it's our fault for voting DT in.

Apparently Matt Gaetz becomes the first of Trump's nominees to faceplant.

Legend11 correctly predicted that GTA IV will outsell Super Smash Bros. Brawl. I was wrong.

Yeah, the Senate is realizing that he's too potentially radioactive.

He'll likely try to run for governor of Florida in 2026.

Am I the only one who wants all his picks approved? Especially RFK? Let Americans have what they voted for. Warts, polio and all.

Pam Bondi has my respect, much more than fuck stick Gaetz.
