The match was payed. Mike would have knocked him out in the first round easily.

Haha, the denial :D

Mike Tyson is nearly 60. He requested 2 minute rounds because he knew 3 minutes would be rough. It didn't stop him from gassing in the second round.

KOing a 27 year old who has shown he knows how to fight is a lot more difficult for him now than it would have been in 1988. Think about it, Tyson had severely declined by 22 years ago. Lennox Lewis toyed with him before KOing him.

Very very sad to watch.

No idea how that fight was sanctioned. I also have no idea how anyone thought that would go any other way.

I have to say that Tyson did much better than expected. Paul isn't the best boxer there is, but he's much younger with better reach. The first three rounds were pretty good, the fourth round should have been where Tyson had been KO'd if the match had been a serious match. The last four rounds were just a show for people who paid to see the fight.

Mike Tyson had some sort of leg injury and that really held him back.  Tyson never had very much stamina, even in his prime, but what he did have is strength and speed.  With the leg injury he lost his leg speed too.  During the first couple of rounds, the few punches he did land were more solid than Paul's punches.  However, Paul mostly danced around the ring in the beginning and let Tyson tire out.  By rounds 3 and 4 Tyson was tired and the fight was pretty much over.  Paul got a few light punches in every round, but no one came close to getting knocked out.  Paul used a strategic way to win, but it was also boring for the people watching.

It would have been more entertaining if they started wailing on each other more from the get go, but I think Paul knew that he'd lose if he just went in trading blows with Tyson.  Paul had the advantages of speed, stamina and reach.  That meant he could control how the fight went, but he didn't have the power to knock out Tyson, and he wasn't going to give Tyson the opportunity to knock him out either.

This is a good summarization.

It also shows you can't fight a 60yo with a injury, and expect much.
Even if that person is Mike Tyson.

So the fight was a scam regardless. If mike wasn't feeling his best, and hindered by a leg injury, he should never have fought. Going out with a known injury is cheating all those who paid for tickets and those who tuned in.

It was a show to begin with. People wanted to see Mike Tyson fight and that's what they got. It's just that the Mike Tyson we saw in the ring was 58 years old Tyson, not 29 years old.

I think Tyson realized by round 3, after he almost got knocked down, he couldn't get in. So he played defense, which he did pretty well. He just didn't have the reactions he needed to counter hit. So he stood there taking blows without being able to hit back.

It was scam, people were expecting a fight, not tyson standing there biting his gloves all night. Just look at the way they edited him going all crazy at the bag and mits hittting with power. Clever of them, to show moments put together in chain, but didn't show tyson puffing out of breath 2 seconds later. They deceived the public into thinking tyson can fight and was roaring to go.

If tyson was short on money and desperate, he could have had a gofundme to help out. I'm sure millions would have chipped in. I would have given some money. But to stage a fight like that, is just bullshit. I've lost all respect for mike.  And i was a fan of him for over 30 years.
