The_Liquid_Laser said: Mike Tyson had some sort of leg injury and that really held him back. Tyson never had very much stamina, even in his prime, but what he did have is strength and speed. With the leg injury he lost his leg speed too. During the first couple of rounds, the few punches he did land were more solid than Paul's punches. However, Paul mostly danced around the ring in the beginning and let Tyson tire out. By rounds 3 and 4 Tyson was tired and the fight was pretty much over. Paul got a few light punches in every round, but no one came close to getting knocked out. Paul used a strategic way to win, but it was also boring for the people watching. It would have been more entertaining if they started wailing on each other more from the get go, but I think Paul knew that he'd lose if he just went in trading blows with Tyson. Paul had the advantages of speed, stamina and reach. That meant he could control how the fight went, but he didn't have the power to knock out Tyson, and he wasn't going to give Tyson the opportunity to knock him out either. |
So the fight was a scam regardless. If mike wasn't feeling his best, and hindered by a leg injury, he should never have fought. Going out with a known injury is cheating all those who paid for tickets and those who tuned in.
