Forums - Sales - Famitsu Sales: Week 4, 2024 (Jan 22 - Jan 28)

Wow, Tekken did terrible - only just over a third of the sales Tekken 7 managed first week on PS4. Even adding in digital sales it'd be well down. One of the worst first weeks for the franchise physically in its history - even Tekken 6 on X360 sold more! Hopefully it's doing better overseas because by all accounts it's a solid step up over the last one.

Tekken 8 sold double SF6 FW in the UK so seems to be doing well in the west.

Pretty bad for Tekken

At least Xbox is doing fine this week

I think Xbox got its Palword boost!

Xbox Series X|S is still up year over year.

Mandatory reminder that digital and PC are big. Also, Tekken 7's Japanese community (especially highlevel players) moved to PC in significant numbers due to lower input lag and better online experience.

Nice hold for PS5. Next week should be good too with Persona 3 Reload

Switch sales are still holding up surprisingly well in 2024 in its 7th year. I was expecting a pretty significant drop off after this holiday cause I felt like this holiday season would really oversaturate the market now with a 2D Mario out and not any major games ahead at least for right now and heavy Switch 2 rumors coming out but Switch sales are still holding up alright in Japan

Switch held up decently this month though it was a surprisingly good January for the PS5. Maybe the latter will hold up better this year than expected at least in Japan. Also not exactly a good start for the Apollo Justice trilogy but that should be one of those releases that doesn't have a notable launch but keeps selling as time goes on.
