Forums - Gaming - List of Games You've Beaten 2024

Just beat Diddy Kong Racing on my N64 for the first time. That game... wow. I had rented it back in the day and knew it was great, but now that I've just gone the entire gauntlet, I can confirm that the hype is real. Probably the greatest difficulty curve I have ever seen. You never feel cheated, and best of all? It's SKILL BASED! No cheap stuff. If you're the better racer, you win, period. I like that (you reading this, Mario? freakin' blue shells). And Wizpig... he's no easy feat. Such a legendary racer.

Did you keep track of time?

Only percentages per month (and percentages for top 3 games within these months) via Steam Replay:

But since offline playtime ain't counted, these percentages are also wrong... most of my Steam Deck playtime ain't counted for the lack of Wi-Fi.

I keep a timer app on my phone, You can't beat it for accuracy aside from the odd time you forget to click it on or off but that's easy to rectify. Even with the PS5 tracking everything, it's still more accurate cause once you get in the habit of pressing pause on the game and the timer too, all those times you go AFK for a minute or two or five don't get counted and they add up over time. I suppose it's a lot easier to do when you game in sessions on one system.

This year was intense:

- Pokémon White
- Paper Mario

Wow! How did you even have enough time to play these games?? That’s insane!!! I could never imagine playing so many games in a single year. Courage, you have my respect. Maybe you’ll hit three next year!! My jaw would be on the floor if you pulled it off tho.

…When you say “Paper Mario”, you are referring to the OG, right? And was it on original hardware? Or emulation? Curious to see how you’re gaming, you courageous dog.

Beating three games next year is my goal

and, yeah, I was referring to N64 Paper Mario. It was my first Paper Mario, actually. I had played Mario & Luigi games and even Legend of Seven Stars but never a Paper Mario game. Excellent game, btw. I played it on my good ol N64. I have my Paper Mario cartridge since 2016 something like that, but there was always something more urgent to play, but finally I picked it up and played it

Final game of the year finished with a replay of Caravan Sandwitch (this time on PS5) which is one of the better indie games I’ve played.

Total: 61 (is maybe 1-2 more but those weren’t exactly “completed” in the traditional sense).

Total hrs: Can’t be 100% sure for games on NS/XS and PC combined but it was 1040.5hrs (rounded to the nearest .5) on PlayStation.

Ride The Chariot | ‘25 Completion

Currently Playing: Bioshock Infinite (Steam Deck)

You joke but people in here get it. Versus Evil there with 61 games, do you realise the dedication, time management and effort it takes. Not only are you fighting the laws of physics to get games beaten at this level but you're fighting your own energy levels when it'd be easier to just go to bed early or relax on the couch on a Sunday but also the urge to jump to the next game which ends up in you getting no games completed. I have 24 games completed this year and it may not sound like much but knowing what goes into it, since they are long games too, I find others achievements much impressive.

eh…i wouldn’t read that deeply into my response to Courage. Seems he understood the light-heartedness of my remark. But yeah, sounds like CtCD only had like maybe 100hr to play this year? That sounds pretty consistent with how much the average American gamer will be able to play in a given year, especially in this economy lol.

100 hours a year... average gamer...Economy...Noooooo. Not when there is free shit like Marvel Rivals and The Last decendant among so many others. The average gamer is putting WAY more in than 100 hours. And it doesn't matter about the economy, gamers are pretty much drug addicts and the economy doesn't effect the sale of drugs, we seen in the last recession that it doesn't hurt the game industry all that much. Here's the first stats I pulled up, parse this if you please and find out that's you're off by hundreds of hours https://www.statista.com/statistics/202839/time-spent-playing-games-by-social-gamers-in-the-us/. I thought I wad a casual last year with 700 hours and totally hardcore this year with 1200 hours but nope, turns out I went from casual to barely more than average.
