I think the best is...

Wii U 14 35.00%

Vita 10 25.00%

Xbox 16 40.00%

Total:40

Sometimes, for various reasons, a system simply fails to attract a large audience. Nevertheless, among the few who do buy them, such systems are sometimes quite beloved, as seen with the Dreamcast for instance.

Of the lowest selling major systems from each of the big three, Wii U for Nintendo, Vita for Sony, and the original Xbox for Microsoft, which do you consider to be the best as a system, and what about it makes it worthy in your opinion?

I'm not going to vote yet, and perhaps I shouldn't since I've never owned the OG Xbox and only played on it very rarely in terms of titles or at someone else's house.
OG Xbox seems like the best system, though. It had online multiplayer back in the day that was revolutionary, it had the Star Wars KOTOR games (two of my faves), Halo was beloved, and it got a lot of third-party support as well (at least from North America and Europe).
I got a Wii U brand new in 2014, and I got a Vita 1000 used in 2021. Wii U clearly has the better first-party lineup, but Vita probably has the better third-party lineup. Stardew Valley (at least the PS4 and Switch up-to date releases) is my favorite game ever, and it's available on Vita (it was cancelled for Wii U). Vita also has better online and used to have a lot of functioning apps, PS Plus monthly games, etc. And to this day, it has Remote Play (with PS4 and a tiny amount of PS3 games) even if it's the least capable device in horsepower for it.
I might post more on this thread later, but my initial (potentially cop-out) answer is...
Xbox probably is the best even though I don't own one.
Wii U probably has the best exclusives (at least before many were ported to Switch)
Vita is a sleeker little device than the Wii U and the low specs can be forgiven since it's a handheld.

Eh... I'd say Wii U. Wii U had better first party game and a gimmicky controller. Obviously not a great one in retrospect, but it had some novel uses which still make it worth hooking up the ol' Wii U now and then.

The XBox had a better library overall, but it was made largely redundant by the PS2 which had a better library, even if the XBox ran the games slightly better. I think the Wii U had better first party games overall. The XBox was a better primary console, but the Wii U is a better secondary one, and that's the better use for either.

The Vita really didn't have much going for it. It had some fun niche titles, but not a lot of heavy hitters. Hardware wise it was probably the most impressive of these three relative to its competition, but the games really weren't there.

Halo, JSRF, ninja Gaiden....  halo 2, jade empire, morrowind, project Gotham 2, kotor...

Xbox, easily.  Also had superior ports of stuff like splinter cell, gta and rainbow six.

i7-13700k

Vengeance 32 gb

RTX 4090 Ventus 3x E OC

Switch OLED

Thought was Xbox One but oh OG Xbox hmm that changes things.

I like all 3 for different reasons that's the thing.

If were talking games hmm that's a challenge right there. OG Xbox fits in the sixth gen period where typical controllers, besides the DVD support (OG Xbox has in it's remote/dongle way unless hacked/modded) and pressure sensitive of PS2 but many games while exclusive to PS2 many great unique on OG Xbox or third parties are great on there. So OG Xbox can easily win by library because I mean sixth gen has a lot of great that current gens lack in just level design, little touches we kind of saw in PS3/360/Wii but dropped off and I miss them. Gimmicks that made each game stand out, actually exciting trends and unique games back then.

Wii U/Vita have their place of course of library. I mostly go for them for their gimmicks of hardware then I do their libraries as their libraries can't compete but they do a good job for what is there. I don't care about the PS3/360/PS4/Xbox One major third parties or many of the first party on PS4/Xbox One at all other than like what 1-2 IPs, the other platforms easily more. PS4 is my least favourite PS console ever, Xbox One would be as well too in it's own way.

Wii U is my favourite Nintendo consoles but as I only have DS/Wii/3DS/Wii U/Switch yeah not much choice. I have an N64 but I haven't used it enough and through research I mean it's good for third parties. I don't care at all for first party/Rare titles on it. I want the third parties from it they are just more exciting to me.

For UI/OS hmm. For what is there they are great. I don't have OG Xbox OS experience or memory at all I have to research/see footage to remember what it looks like. Wii U I can't judge it by what it can't do so yeah. I like the folders/look/flow/navigation and access of them both.

I like the Wii U/Vita folders, navigation, looks. I just get by with them pretty well.

Wii U/Vita I got around the same time, OG Xbox I haven't rebought one since only had one prior and sold it for a Wii or PS3 and I haven't seen one since that's accessible to buy like I have my Wii U 32GB Deluxe, Vita 1000 and 2000 models, PSP 2000, OG DS (rebought used to have a Mario Sticker light blue OG DS, had a DSi I got after that OG DS, but a Pink OG DS now is great for GBA finally as never had GBA games), New 3DS XL or Switch as my firsts for those systems (own a PSP 1000 so a 2000 model or 3000 model was a dream, saw E 1000/Street but no interest, neither in a DS Lite seen them not interest in them).

Console look hmm well between Wii U and OG Xbox the Xbox has more look to it. Wii U is pretty standard of course. For Controller/Handheld I'd say hmm Gamepad is pretty good, I like the White/Black buttons on the Xbox the uniqueness of them and well I never had issues with them when I did have one. Vita I got used to it's touchpad/touchscreen easily enough besides it's other features. It's big enough not Switch big or larger.

Gamepad has it's grips and it's great. The plastic is just eh though but the feel is good besides that plastic the underside is the best part.

I'd say Xbox or Wii U for different things. Vita in it's own way.

But for current state I'd say Xbox or Vita have it more. Wii U offers a fair amount but Vita does offer it a bit more I think.

Xbox is great though. I really want an OG Xbox and not even for the notable titles. Granted I have PGR 1 & 2, or Star Wars Revenge of the Sith movie game (based on BC for Xbox One or 360 because I don't own an OG Xbox) but I am mostly interested in the AA platformers or certain other types of games. I can play Halo on many things these days, same with Gears (I know was a 360+ series). Forza Motorsport 1 sure but even then I have FM2 the only reason I want FM1 is for comparison and the tracks left out of the series after FM1 which sucks I really like Alpine Raceway and miss it. Like Complex String from Gran Turismo 3.

If were talking heavy hitters Xbox. If were talking niche games Wii U and Vita but mostly Vita.

If were not talking heavy hitters then well Xbox probably still as the era it is and well it had just as much good niche stuff on it then besides the many good, bizzare or I guess in some cases surprising PS2 exclusives, there is some on Xbox as well. Some that get talked about some probably not as much.

Wii U has some great stuff but still the only console with Xenoblade X. Vita has a lot of hidden gems and a go to for me is Macross Delta Scramble.. The original Xbox has Jet Set Radio Future. Panzer Dragoon Orta. Shenmue II. Gunvalkyrie. Phantom Dust. I am going with original Xbox. JSRF is one of my fave SEGA games ever.

Bite my shiny metal cockpit!

WiiU had some great first party titles (Super Mario 3D World, DK Tropical Freeze, etc) but it overall the worst Nintendo system since the Virtual boy.

Vita's first party library was lack luster and it had better third party support than the WiiU at first...but it dried up.

My vote goes to Xbox since I have more titles on it than the other two.

I have to go with WiiU vs XBox for the innovations that they brought.

XBox put a HDD standard in the box, no more saving on game cartridges, yet also started the 'everything must be installed first' era.
XBox also introduced paid online, a negative imo.
Combined XBox led the way to release now, patch later...

WiiU added a very useful secondary screen, great to have HUD, map, inventory in your hands with touch screen making inventory management and setting waypoints a lot easier, keeping the tv screen uncluttered.

WiiU also had Windwaker HD, best Zelda game imo, which worked wonderfully with the game pad.

(I never had a PS Vita)

OG Xbox - for better or (according to some) for worse, it changed how consoles are designed, that is being, more or less, PCs in the box.

The original Xbox gets my vote, possibly still my favourite console. Good times.
