Looks like docked VRR is a thing now.

Post-Direct, I am interested to see how RE4 Remake and Kingdom Come II hold up on the platform.

The former has a pretty decent PS4 version so it should translate fairly well I expect, though the PS4 version does have some issues with texture quality/streaming that Switch 2 can hopefully clean up thanks to its faster storage and larger RAM capacity.

Kingdom Come 1 was something of a showpiece of how far Switch 1 could be pushed, so I am curious how the sequel runs on S2.

Series S is currently trash, but it may be getting FSR4 support soon. Won't be as efficient on it or Series X as on RDNA3, let alone RDNA4, but it could make an appreciable difference.

PS5 probably won't get anything like this, which is weird because Sony invested in and prioritised advanced upscaling with both PS4 Pro and PS5 Pro. How is it that Series S supports INT8 instructions and PS5 doesn't? I've been championing the PS5 as the better designed console of the generation, but FSR4 will turn the tables. Yeah I guess some would say "it's too late" but is it? Most 3rd party games will still support Series S and X for another 10 years, and no one is buying a $1000 next gen console.

"PS5 probably won't get anything like this"

Aged like milk and I'm once again questioning ML acceleration and everything I thought I knew about INT8 vs whatever.

Base PS5... with no hardware ML acceleration or INT8 processing... is giving "full RDNA2" a run for their money. QSSR (which is essentially PSSR for base PS5) greatly improves image quality and at seemingly comparable cost to FSR3 if Yotei is anything to go by. What wizardry is this?... It's looking even better than the early/leaked FSR4 on full RDNA2's and potentially RDNA3.

It's almost like I'm clueless and Sony knew what the they were doing when they designed the PS5. FSR4 on Series S ain't turning no tables...

Hopefully this stuff (FSR4 's non hardware accelerated variants) get implemented on as wide a range of hardware as possible so we can all be happy.
