Pretty difficult choice this time around.

I'll go with Other (Stunts a.k.a. 4D Sports Driving) followed by Wing Commander and Parodius Da! (Parodius: From Myth to Laughter), which is also missing on the list, probably because of the lack of North American release.

Tons of good games in 1990! I played and enjoyed Mega Man 3, Dr Mario, Chip N Dale Rescue Rangers, Crystalis, Ninja Gaiden 2 and Super C but my vote has to go to the excellent SNES launch game Super Mario World!

I have to give it to Mega Man 3, but SMW is very close.

In better part of 80s almost every year so far there was some text, graphic or point&click adventure that was deserving of voting for, so I'm usually just holding back with that, or it would be same year some, some adventure - but I just can't not vote for Secret of Monkey Island this year. I have to look up what's against Myst in its year, cause that's the other one it would be hard not to vote for over other games.

Yet again, Mario gets the sweep on MegaMan.

Monkey Island and Dr Mario are also excellent choices. Super Mario World is still one of the best and most polished side scrollers of all time.

Dragon Quest 4 for me.

Monkey Island for me obviously. Shoutout to Stunts, as SvennoJ I extensively played around with the track editor.
Wing Commander is an pretty important game from a historical perspective.

Not the best year of all time, imo. Super Mario World is certainly a worthy winner even if it's not my cup of tea.

In the absence of anything else pulling me in, I'll vote in favour of my favourite franchise and cast my vote for Final Fantasy III. A very good game no doubt, but FF would cetainly reach higher peaks in years to come.
