Why would there be?
Last month had a general Direct focused on games releasing this Fall/Winter and August had a Pokémon Direct along with a Mario Wonder Direct.
So what exactly would they show?

The only things that would come to my mind would be either an Indie Showcase or a Metroid Prime 4 Direct
