Love listening to Jazz compilation remix of Kirby songs in general, not really a specific tune in mind usually, that's just unhealthy at a certain point.

But Xenoblade 3 "Carrying the weight of life" lives rent free in my head from time to time

Unhealthy!?

You know that moment when you get sick of "mind listening" to a song over and over again non-stop even after you tried your best to stop thinking about it but it still pops up in your mind ... there's the unhealthiness

Rent free in my head:

Usually it's the "praise the Lamb" theme that sticks in my head most of the time, but it is a relaxing tune to listen to when managing the cult.

Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.

Been obsessed with this one my whole life. The duality of what it portrays (the intensity being Ashera and the calmer parts being Yune) absolutely love it. The raw primordial power of the drums kicking in. Ugh.

these composers haven’t made anything new since this OST either and I’m pretty sure they still work at Nintendo.

The intro to OOT where Link is riding Epona is some moving stuff and never gets old, but for me, most of the best gaming songs came from the 8-bit era. Mario's theme, Zelda's theme, Final Fantasy's theme. Then you have Metroid's theme which is just... wow. Totally evocative. Imo, gaming music was at its peak during that time.

Instrumentals/Classical. My husband and me have went to see 2 of the Distant World concerts and had a blast both times. The music from the games can evoke emotion but seeing them played live gives me chills (especially Jenova). BUT my Favorite song would be the Forest Maze song from Mario RPG. It just randomly gets caught in my head all of the time.

Also, depending on the game, Rock, Techno/Dance, Rap, and Pop can work in a game. I loved driving around in Burnout Paradise to Fake It by Seether. The techno/dance music made Tetris Connected feel fresh. I’m Ready by Jaden from Spider-Man Miles Morales was so well placed and reminded me of the soundtracks to the Spiderverse movies but more attuned to the game itself than the movies.

Deus Ex (2000) - a game that pushes the boundaries of what the video game medium is capable of to a degree unmatched to this very day.

I still prefer the good ald chiptunes, they really managed to make great, memorable music with the limited capabilities of the sound chips of the time. Some of my preferred musics, in no specific order:

Space Harrier:

Mega Man 2 Dr Wily's castle 1&2:

Megalovania:

Double Dragon Mission 1:

The Legend of Zelda II Palace theme (My former Alarm Clock btw):

But my favorite is probably Scuttle Town from Shantae and the Pirate's Curse:

I can sing this for hours on end while working, whether in my head or out loud.
I've never played the game, but got introduced to the song a couple years ago and instantly loved it.
