And then there were two...

A rematch from Super Bowl 54, the 49ers and the Chiefs.

God, do I want my 49ers to win... But they CANNOT play like they did in the 1st half tonight in the Super Bowl. If they do, they have no chance.

Lions. You had it and let it slip...

So we have SB54 rematch. 49ers, please win.

Yup, that failed 4th&2 early in the second half caused a drastic shift in momentum. While I am usually in favor of going for it on 4th and short, the timing here was ill-advised; the Lions should have taken the field goal to make it a three score game again. Of course, the incredible luck of the 49ers right afterwards on that deep shot that bounced off the defender's helmet into the receiver's arms (although I do not remember if their was a DPI flag on the play anyway), followed up by the Lions fumbling on the first play of their next possession didn't help either.

It's not solely on Campbell though. The Lions offense repeatedly failed to catch easy passes in the second half, stalling their drives.

Legend11 correctly predicted that GTA IV will outsell Super Smash Bros. Brawl. I was wrong.

There was a DPI on the play but the refs picked up the flag. (Probably because they knew the 49ers would decline it anyway.)

I was hoping for some new blood in the SB. Feels like Lamar wet the bed.

Lol

Upset that my lions lost. But at least they are not like my local bears.

Holy shit that was TENSE! Started slow then became a hell of a game. I had my doubts but Reid and co. stayed cool as a cucumber and pulled it out one possession at a time. GG, SF. GO CHIEFS!!!

This was the most German end for this NFL season that you could imagine. When the clock was winding down in the final minute of the first overtime period, the German commentators were screaming why doesn't take Andy Reid a timeout, time is running out. As if there wouldn't be a second overtime period. LOL

Anyway, I am glad the Chiefs pulled it off. The Niners had been running on too much luck in two playoff games prior where they played football unworthy of a first seed for too prolonged periods. Plus they are meanies for beating the Packers all the time in the playoffs. Plus I'd like to see Brady's meltdown when Mahomes is about to win more Lombardi trophies than he did.

Good Super Bowl, I like when it's close instead of one sided, and you don't get any closer than going to Overtime for only the 2nd time in Superbowl history.

Great Superbowl field goal record by Butker, breaking Moody's own record within the same game, and he also broke the record for most career Superbowl field goals which was co-held by Adam Vinatieri and Stephen Gostkowski before today. I voted for Butker for MVP since he got 5 field goals including that record one, but I'm sure Mahomes will get MVP, which I'm OK with as he played one heck of a game.
