That being said, Nintendo is usually late with their consoles. N64 late, GBA late, GC late, Wii U late, Wii and Switch arguably half a year late, etc.
So it should be early 2024, but I see it being late 2024 with 3D Mario.
For the 8th time 2024.
We are already at that phase were rumors about the successor are starting to gain more ground. I still think games like Super Mario RPG and Super Mario Bros. Wonder are going to be remembered as the swansong titles for the Switch.
I've been thinking the Switch successor would launch between March/April 2024 and March/April 2025. With how strong Switch sales still are and the good lineup of games for this holiday I am thinking Holiday 2024 or March/April 2025 at this point.

November 2024
3DS & Switch were both planned for holiday releases but were delayed so I don’t see Nintendo planning for a Q1 release like a bunch of people are predicting.

Exactly same thought, I wish we got a March+ 2025 Release, so it has the double first year boosts (Release Hype & First Holiday).
Late 2024. That makes by far the most sense business wise unless they really need an extra few months to get software ready. By then Switch will have cooled off a lot but will still have some life left in it making it the ideal period to begin building up the install base of the successor while still releasing some cross-gen games for 1-2 years to take advantage of the install base of the Switch 1 as it transitions over to the new one.

March release worked really well for the Switch with Breath of the Wild at launch, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe a month or so later, Splatoon 2 during the summer, and Mario Odyssey as the big holiday game.

Fall of '24, imo.
On a side note, what chance do you think it'll be on par with PS5 and Xbox Series X?
