Forums - Nintendo - Wave 5 of the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass launches July 12th

Good selection of tracks. Still no GC Wario Colosseum though. I’d like that one. One chance left.

I personally feel the same way. I played the hell out of that game on Wii-U, and then even on the Switch. But I moved on a long time ago. Still, it's pretty obvious that we're in the minority, otherwise they'd never have pumped this much time and money into it. Clearly, people want more MK 8.

Maybe MK 9 will be a launch title?

It'd make sense to have it as one.

That seems highly likely. Certainly it will be released within the first year.

Hyped! Cant wait for it.

Nice that we're getting another all new track, plus as someone who played thousands of hours of Mario Kart Wii at University, seeing Koopa Cape and Moonview Highway return is a cosy dose of nostalgia. Kamek and Wiggler are a cool addition too.

Overall, looks like an excellent wave. Here's hoping they end on a strong note with Wave 6.
Yeah, I kinda wish I was playing Mario Kart 9 at this point, but as a consolation to hold me over while I wait, it's hard to complain too much about 48 DLC tracks for $25USD.

It still weird to me that at the time they didn't confirm returning characters would be introduced to the game alongside these waves. Feel like the initial reception to the Booster pass could've even much more positive with that in mind.

In the end, good going for Wave 5 ! Glad they're pretty much dumping everything from MK Tour since I truly wanted those courses on the official console MK since the beginning !

I wonder if the addition of characters was something that was brought into the equation way later.

Wasnt the first character that appeared in the booster pack in Wave 3?

There's also Mario Kart Arcade games. Would've been nice if the packs would also include some of the tracks from those, because I don't think many will have played them. I haven't anyway.

Yes, I believe. Birdo.

so odd they didn't just announce this in the direct...? seems like an obvious omission lol.
