Play Demon yet?  The lighting is fantastic.  Same with Ratchet.  I wasn't impressed with Elden graphics, maybe because it was cross generation.  But Demon and Ratchet are yum yum.

Granted when people talk graphics we always focus on the console and not panel display.  Demon on an LG OLED and Ratchet at 120 hz....  display matters as much as the console, imo.

Ok to be fair I haven't played those games. Was gonna buy demon but I heard the bosses are easy, and to me that a huge reason I like dark souls type games. Do they look better then gow ragnarok?

I personally think Demon is the best looking ps5 game.  The bosses are easiest in the franchise, but still harder than the average videogame.  Demon is the best game in the series.

And don't get me wrong I did like Elden, so I feel bad beating it up, however graphically it wasn't impressive from a ps5 perspective.

Most lists i see put demons souls as the second or first weakest entry. i will buy it cause you recommend though and wanna see the graphics. although the bosses are  a huge reason why i love fromsoftware games.

Just beat crucible knight duo, what a amazing battle. This is easily the best open world i have ever played. I'm 67 hours and unlike most  open world games, you still don't feel OP and the need to explore and get stronger. The art direction is also amazing which makes up for the graphics not being top tier. The boss battles are just epic so far. Rating this game is 7 is nuts imo.

The freedom in Demon is amazing, you can tackle worlds at your choice.

I probably focused too much on side stuff.  I do think I would have liked elden more if I focused on the main quest.  I tried to discover too much.  I want to try NG+ and play more main quest to see if my opinion changes.

Congrats on the duo.  Some of the later bosses are crazy.

I also think I'm jaded and harsh when a game is the "best thing ever."  I tend to be more critical.

I never been a huge dark souls fan but after Elden ring, I'm differently getting demons and darks souls 3. i'm sure dark souls 3 is gonna be vastly better experience then running 40-45fps on pro.

Demon bosses are not easy, they are gimmicky

If you never played the original and don't follow internet guides they can be quite tiresome to deal with. Fools Idol for instance is annoying to fight if you don't kill a specific NPC before the combat

Demon is fantastic, but has its problems. First you're killed and sometimes sent back to the start of the level. There are levels that really felt like roguelike mazes to traverse and you take 5 to 10 minutes to reach the boss again, making it tiresome to master the boss battle and finally defeat them

Horrible design if you think because this game is much much harder than a Roguelike. Dark Souls acknowledge this problem and at least puts a bonfire before boss fights

Loot management is ass, too much trash on your inventory and if you take sometime you can infinitely farm healthy items (I definitely did)

Character tendency is quite obnoxious and not explained, it was a missed opportunity

And of course the fact the 5 world's are not interconnected is a huge downgrade from Souls (although in this case is Souls the one who is the upgraded version)

If you are an experienced Souls player it's a easier game to cheese. Nothing like the brutality of Souls 1 or 2 who seems to take pride in torture the player

I never played dark souls 1 and 2. Well i did play 2 for like 30 minutes and thought it was garbage, the graphics looked like crap and felt too clunky. The games that i have played and with my ratings.

Sikero is a 10

Bloodborne 9.5

Dark souls 3 8.5 I think this one could much higher at 60fps instead the janky 40-45fps on ps4 pro.

Eden ring 70 hours in is a 9.5 so far.

For me the boos battles is a huge reason i love these games, and when hearing the bosses are easy compared to most souls games is the only reason i didn't buy it.

2 is very cheap and has strange and clunky controls indeed, specially for rolling/dodging. Rest assured the controls of Demon Souls are very good, fluid and responsive as should be expected from a proper PS5 game

Bloodborne is brilliant, albeit a little constrained. I like to have options in builds and playstyle and honestly always felt like Bloodborne don't offer it, otherwise 10/10 game for me. Dark Souls 3 offers a shit tons of options to make builds, but not every one of them are viable, seems a game that is not well thought to a builds, with the intelligence builds being particularly unreliable for most of the game.

Elden Ring completely trumps both in this aspect. I have 4 saves (an intelligence build, an arcane build, and str/faith build and a dex build) and ALL them are not only viable, but also absolutely fun to play. The amount of depth and richness in the weapons, builds and overall combat is far beyond anything else in game industry. It's not the game of the generation is the game of the life!

I would agree with you about  Elden Ring  if it had  a story that wasn't so bad, and had some interesting characters. Like i been playing for 70 hours and have no clue to whats's going on. Side quests for NPC's are hard to understand and follow with out using a guide which sucks. I much prefer the way sikero tells the story where i don't need to watch a youtube video to understand whats's going on, and even then it's till hard to understand.

I find the story fantastic too. It's very Martin-like, it's basically family soap opera drama with demigods, really screams A Song of Ice and Fire to me. I don't find it hard to understand at all, you just need to patiently talk to NPCs and out the pieces together

But I agree many NPC quests are impossible to do without a guide. First because you don't how how to trigger them, and don't have any update whatsoever about its status. There are way too many of them (I guess more than 20), the odds is that you won't finish more than 5 if you play blindly. I remember I somehow managed to go too far in Rannis quest (the longest of the game imo) playing blindly, but at some point she basically vanished and I never found her again

Then I given up and decided to look for a tutorial, and seems like I needed to go to Hanni's mom, Rennala, chamber, open a chest and get a ring in order to proceed the quest, that's close to impossible to do without looking for a guide, I get they wanted to make things hard, but they should at least give better clues. I did it anyway and got the Hanni's ending, which is my favorite ending so it was worth it

For me I love demon because it allows the player to choose what worlds to tackle, after the first battle.
