Forums - Sony Discussion - PlayStation Showcase announced for May 24 (Over an hour long, focusing on PS5 and PSVR2 games)

I originally had the PS showcase rated at 7/10 but the more I reflect on it, the more I realize how disappointing it really was. 3rd party games kept the show from being completely irrelevant. The fact Helldivers 2, a game that looks fun for a few hours before getting bored, was 2nd best first party game they showed, is concerning. I currently have it at a 5/10 now.

Very week show for me a 4/10 would be my impression of it.
Sony on their GNS quarter update said they plan to have at least 2 major releases per year and from all genres, this show doesn't really support that imho.
Also it is funny that even with a weak show like this (and with Sony making no effort to confuse people on the multiplatforms) MS had a need to go with a "hey don't forget about us, these games will launch on our platform". I don't remember Nintendo or Sony trying to make posts undermining or bringing attention to their platforms when the others reveal something.

Mr Puggsly: "Hehe, I said good profit. You said big profit. Frankly, not losing money is what I meant by good. Don't get hung up on semantics"

Azzanation: "PS5 wouldn't sold out at launch without scalpers."

Did anyone actually care about PSVR stuff? Did anyone else wish they would be over faster to get back to PS5 stuff?  Then again I am the only one on Earth who wanted to see Granblue Relink even tho I have no history with that franchise. I just like more ARPGs.

I care and bought PSVR2 last week, but what they showed in the event was irrelevant for me.

This was done during the E3 event itself and you had to go what 7 years back in time?

Do you remember all the times MS tried to highjack shows (or the destiny fragrance) and other ways to mention that a title that had marketing rights were also going to Xbox?

I'm happy they came out and clarified what games are coming to Xbox since it's not always clear. Sony can and should do the same thing. It's smart marketing and anyone getting irked by it shows how effective it really was.

Tell one title that wasn't clear and also why it had to be informed minutes after the show?

It was not clear if something is a timed exclusive, full exclusive, or multiplatform when it came to 3rd party games. Sony seems to change the wording or way it tells us this each time I watch one of these shows. I read plenty of comments during the show and after asking if a certain game is exclusive or not.

Why does it need to be informed minutes after the show? Because it's the best time to do it while people are still talking the games. It gets people thinking about Xbox. It's smart and effective marketing.

They said coming to Playstation, without any exclusiveness disclaimer so it was pretty obvious they weren't exclusive in any form.

Again as I said I don't remember Sony putting reminders or disclosures for multiplatform titles after MS announcements.

If it was so obvious, people wouldn't need clarification. MS doesn't always make it easy to know too, but they've been better over the years.

Just because you don't remember doesn't mean they haven't before. Even if this is the first time, so what. Being bothered by this is dumb.
