Forums - Sony Discussion - PlayStation Showcase announced for May 24 (Over an hour long, focusing on PS5 and PSVR2 games)

Not much to make me run out and get a PS5 yet, but the show was fine. Did like the pacing. Just game after game.

Underwhelming.

Considering the last one was a bit over 1.5 years ago this was disappointing and outright weak. The previous couple Playstation showcases were much better and there's genuinely been multiple State of Plays more exciting than that was. The MGS trailer was really cool and stuff like the Splatoon inspired game look neat but I expected Sony's first party games to have a significantly bigger presence but that aspect was very underwhelming. Hopefully the events a couple weeks from now are better.

Either PlayStation isn't big on announcing games far in advance or many games are stuck in dev hell. Seems like Insomniac, Santa Monica, Guerilla, Bluepoint and Housemarque are the only functional studios that will produce more than one single game it seems.

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar

"At Playstation, we like inovation"

And then shows basically a Wii U Gamepad

My initial thoughts: 6/10. My biggest complaint was the lack of gameplay from their first party studios. The Gran Turismo trailer was ridiculous lol. Would've rather seen a few PC ports announced. A lot of the content was good though.

SpiderMan 2 was a showstopper, Alan Wake 2 and Dragon's Dogma looked good, Phantom Blade 0 blew me away, and a few of the indies were fantastic. It felt like this show needed one more big hitter, like a gameplay reveal of The Last of Us multiplayer, to elevate it into a 7/10.

I liked Phantom Blade, got curious for Dragon's Dogma II, Metal Gear Solid and Alan Wake 2 and of course loved Spider-man 2.

Disappointed by the lack of good VR2 games tho.

And I like the idea of the PSU Gamepad, if we can also use it as a controller, it will be great

Honestly I thought that was disappointing.

A huge number of games, and good variety though. Around 70 minutes, 33 games.  And Spiderman got like a whopping 11 or 12 minutes of it.

So many of the games are just known quantities like Street Fighter 6, and Final Fantasy XVI.

Some of the first party stuff might be amazing, but the showings were very bad. We got like 50 seconds of teaser for Concord and like a 2 minute trailer for Fairgame$. Concord is supposed to be coming next year, why are we getting some 50 second trailer that shows us nothing other than it's some kind of sci-fi game?

I honestly think they should have cut some games and just called it a State of Play frankly...

Based on what?

Aside from The Last of Us multiplayer, which Neil confirmed is going to be shown this year, Guerrilla Games second project is the only other game that I expected to show up, that didn't.
