Earlier in the year we were talking about how this could possibly work on the Switch; now we have a look at how it holds up on the PS4 and Xbox One

- 720p on Xbox One S

- 900p on PS4

- 1080p on PS4 Pro

- 1440p on Xbox One X

- Textures and detail levels cut back, some assets entirely remade

- 30fps with some dips on Xbox One S and PS4, stable 30fps on Pro and One X

This is the most demanding game I'm aware of to get a Switch port. It will be interesting to see how it turns out; it will either be a catastrophe, or a miracle.

Don't know why, but I'm expecting something to what the Switch just got with Man of Medan(Dark Anthology). Running a dynamic resolution with a constant 24fps

Dam only 720p and 900p on xbox one and ps4 and 30fps with dips. I'm expecting more extreme performance and visual cut backs on switch



Xbox One X has 75 second load times for fast travel, cut back features to match base Xbox One along with already not having smart delivery. Guess I'll pick this up in a year or two on sale for next-gen.

A shame. Even though I've heard mixed things about the game, I figured if they put a decent effort into the last-gen version it might be worth trying, but I'm not that desparate to play this game.



Around the Network

A competent effort considering how demanding it is but people who don't have a PS5 or Xbox Series yet should wait since the loading time gap alone will make a significant difference. With the resolution and texture quality being like that on Xbox One the Switch version isn't gonna be nice to look at but I am certainly curious how bad or perhaps surprisingly not bad it'll be. Also more games on console should let you unlock the FPS since it'd be a big benefit to backwards compatibility down the line.

I would guess that the Xbox One X wasn't a high priority due to not representing much in the way of install base, hence why it doesn't seem to have gotten much fine grained tailoring. Still, at least they didn't skimp on resolution, unlike some releases where it's a match for the weaker PS4 Pro. 1080p to 1440p is around a doubling of pixel count.

I still feel like the last gen version as a whole represents a decent effort overall; performance isn't perfect even on Xbox Series X, so getting it running acceptably on last gen can't have been an easy task.

It represents a mediocre and barely acceptable effort at best, considering it was delayed months just to get it to this point. Certainly not enough to push a skeptical buyer like me into paying full price, for all the reasons I already mentioned.

If you happen to be more interested in this game or just feel a lack of other games to play (as you've often mentioned), that might affect what you're willing to compromise, but I already have too many games to play as is.

If you happen to be more interested in this game or just feel a lack of other games to play (as you've often mentioned), that might affect what you're willing to compromise, but I already have too many games to play as is.

I'm not saying you have to buy it. I just personally wouldn't consider this a mediocre effort given how demanding it is on much more capable hardware. It was designed primarily for PS5 and Series X after all, something had to give to get it running on systems with much older chipsets, less and slower RAM, and mechanical hard drives. 



Was thinking about waiting for the switch version since it is the platform my girlfriend uses the most and the game is mainly for her. Glad we got it on the PS5 instead. The cutbacks to make it run well is going to be noticeable.
