Bungie better be working on Destiny 3, it's clearly what their players would want.

There was also another Destiny spinoff that was cancelled a year or so ago that I think Bungie/Sony kind of expected to help with the declining popularity of Destiny 2 that didn't come to fruition.

Although I wonder if porting Destiny Rising to consoles/PC's is in the cards now.

Another Destiny game that is more like a traditional FPS with a story mode, multiplayer mode, with PVE and PVP elements could still do massive numbers. It doesn't have to be a live service game with constant updates lol.

It's certainly one way for Bungie to keep the budget in check.

That's the closest we'll get to a proper return of the Halo 3 glory days!

To think, Bungie made that game with only like 110 employees total. They can do it! Having the game be a live service at the start of development would need a massive amount of people, but a focused standard style game doesn't. Can have a smaller team working on that as well.

That seems to be the only way out for Bungie. The return of smaller yet focused non-live service projects. Destiny isn't gonna be making any money here in the near future when this final push dies down. Marathon somehow cost Bungie $250 million to make and still isn't close to breaking even on just developmental costs. A smaller budget release can help breathe some new life, and creativity, into the studio.

Really? I think this is the first time I've read about it.

I do hope they have more than just Marathon in mind to keep Sony at bay, sure, if Marathon somehow explode in popularity someday, it is a possibility when there is a good product and a company doesn't give up on it, like Cyberpunk and No Man's Sky (those 2 game did have massive frontloaded sales to start with tho, despite how massively bashed they were they did bring the money day one), but it would be better to have other projects, in their case the safest one of the best, so Destiny, so they have a better perspective of pulling their weight eventually.

I personally think that most of the "projects" that Bungie supposedly had in development that coincided with Destiny being at its most profitable, were never actually legitimate projects that were only designed to inflate Bungie's portfolio to get the highest price possible from a buyout, and it worked. Suddenly, projects left and right started getting canceled.

No proof of this. It's just one of those things where seeing the situation Bungie is in now, you start look at how things have played out over the last few years with suspicion.

I really think Sony overpaid on Bungie because of their live service push, and Bungie experience and success would be a support pillar for the whole company on that, thus why it needed it more than just what it was simply worth.

Anyway, as I've read repeatedly that Marathon is actually a very good game, I do hope they can turn it around, but I doubt that is enough to appease the ones throwing money at it (Sony and/or investors).

I really know nothing about Bungie internal stuff so I dunno about potential suspicion subjects, just that from now on they are very likely needing a reliable project to work into.

Most definitely the only way forward for Destiny is to move to other types of games. I'm not sure if a traditional FPS works right now without the MP social elements attached to it. But, it's definitely something they should be looking into to keep the Destiny IP alive. I wonder if a co-op rougelite could work; the loop would be closer to what Destiny is. Probably easier to get made, too.

Gran Turismo 7 has dropped another update today with 5 new cars, all which are related to Le Mans as it is close to happen, 4 of those are very recent hypercars that raced there, plus a safety car.

It also added Pikes Peak... as a scapes place to take picutes, lol.

Does it means they were there to scan it for GT?
Will it be the last track they add to GT7?
Or maybe GT8 release with Pikes Peak day one?
I sure hope it happens either way.

The Suzuki Escudo was added to GT7 after so many years missing from the franchise, Pikes Peak as well would be such a GT2 nostalgia trip!

"Sharma and her team also pulled a Halo trailer that was due to appear at a PlayStation event last week, potentially damaging the relationship between the two companies, according to people familiar with the change of plans."

That's what I like, the competition isn't fun if it doesn't feel dirty/wrong LOL.

Saros got a photo mode update.

And 9 trophies with it.

Did a "full" run earlier and got the 6 trophies I could by doing it, probably going to get the other 2 tied to biomes later today as well.

That one for getting 5 different alphas on frame seems like a bit weird, I only got 1 in that run for some reason.
