PS5 Pro really awakened with the PSSR upgrade. Happy (and jealous) for the Pro + 4KTV owners. I'll just wait for the PS6.

I think the announced Cyberpunk upgrade on Pro should be awesome, that game looks so good with Raytracing and hopefully with the improvements they allow the bigger crowds with RT on unlike it was before.

But yeah, I'm waiting for the PS6 and PSSR 2 path tracing (they will call it PSSR 2 by then), maybe I'll finally play Cyberpunk then lol, but I dunno if my PS4 physical copy would get 2 generations of BC support to improve it to PS6 version, if the PS6 allows my PS4 games to do that it would be awesome.

In spite of how terrible that Nvidia reveal was, It actually got me even more excited for the PS6. It's been suggested a few times but the AI could actually pave way for a much bigger generational leap when used correctly. If it can be used to achieve otherwise impossible physics, simulations, interactions that would just be way too intensive for manual computation. We could see some really wild experiences.

PSSR is getting the enhancement update starting today.

PS Portal is getting an update tomorrow to add a high quality 1080p mode.

Death Stranding 2 is getting an update too the day after to add some cutscenes, content and new hard mode "to the wilder" to match the PC release.

Sony giving 3 days straight of free updates in various ways to Playstation, pretty damn good week I would say.

I'm glad I still have a lot of Death Strading 2 to play as one of the updates allows the chiral cat to be on our room and I'll definitely want that to be the case lol.

Bungie is releasing the Cryo Archive "raid" map today, and releasing the game's Ranked Mode at the end of this week. Pretty much all their planned endgame content. To do Cryo Archive, you need to be at least level 25 and have unlocked all factions. Excited to check it out!

You called down the thunder, now reap the whirlwind

Starfield officially announced for PS5, releases April 7th.

EXCLUSIVE – PlayStation is Phasing Out The “PlayStation Network” Branding

PlayStation will be dropping the “PlayStation Network” and “PSN” branding by September 2026.

In an email sent to developers and seen by Insider Gaming, PlayStation will be dropping the “PlayStation Network” and “PSN” branding. It’s said that the change will be purely visual and is a means to “properly capture the breadth of our evolving digital services.”

The full email reads,

“We’d like to inform you that Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) has strategically decided to phase out the terms “PlayStation Network” and “PSN” across our platform in order to properly capture the breadth of our evolving digital services. What’s changing and timeline.

The upcoming changes are purely visual and will not introduce any technical alterations to our offerings. To simplify and unify branding, the terms “PlayStation Network” and “PSN” will be phased out across all SIE assets by September 2026. All features currently associated with PSN, including core network features such as friends, multiplayer, and trophies, will remain unaffected and available to players. You’ll be notified ahead of changes coinciding with the Technical Requirements Checklist (TRC) update in the fall of 2026.

Note: PS5 DevNet access is required to view TRC documentation. At that time, you’ll need to align with the updated TRC and branding guidelines to ensure the removal of PSN instances from all future releases, assets, and external service interfaces.”

It’s currently unclear on what the new name of the network will be.

Interesting news there, it's always been "PSN" or "Playstation Network". I wonder what the new name and logo will be.

PSN is as much recognizable of a brand as any other PS brand, pretty stupid to phase it out IMO, maybe just always reffering to it as PSN instead of the full Playstation Network, but I don't see why change it now.

Sony is having far too many good news lately, so maybe some shit is due to happen, as they did after the last State of Play hype by closing Bluepoint games.

TBH I'm only going to miss saying "PSN-id" but if the new name is cooler then I'm going to get over it quickly lol.

Sony is refunding any purchase made within Highguard (dlc, microtransactions, etc) to supposedly everyone that bought those in its short run. Without the need to submit a request for it, they are just handing it back to people together with a notification about it.

That's actually such a great move, one I don't think anyone was antecipating as its not a game of theirs and they are still handing it back to everyone regardless.

That really makes me scared that an equally bad news is coming soon, that PSN name being phased out of the blue already got me aware, I hope I'm wrong but Sony is in such a good freebie run in all fronts that I'm getting really suspicious lol.

I don't want to jinx it but... I think a PS Plus price increase is about to happen.
