US Politics entertainment show is entering its WWF Attitude Era with Babyface and heel turns galore. It's all for show.

She’s also resigned... Why? She’s probably aiming for a title shot. She’s not being honest.

There’s an enormous volume of evidence to suggest she’s a sociopath (in that social boundaries don’t seem to matter to her, she’s bullied other women... and as an adult). My prediction is that she’s going to play the right-wing projection game where she’ll engage in toxic politics, but deny she’s doing so, and label her opponents as the toxic ones. We see this game with the over-emotional right-wingers who claim the left is over-emotional, the anti-free speech right-wingers who claim the left is anti-free speech, and the groomer culture right who claims that the left is about grooming; not to mention a majority of right-wing Christians who act just like the judgmental and sanctimonious Pharisees who opposed Jesus in the Gospels, and engage in cherry-picking the bible (something, again, Jesus opposed). In other words, MTG is full of shit. She’s not on her meds; she’s calculating how gullible her potential supporters are.

Now here is the most confusing one that shocked the media... and I don't get this one either.......... ANYONE have an explanation?!?!?!?!

"One may wonder why Trump chose to play second fiddle to Mam Dani. Well, the answer is simple. Trump knows the paradigm shift even amongst Republicans who are now beginning to show their disgust at the constant interference by a rogue settler colony called Israel. Trump is experienced enough to realize that any foolish steps here would backfire and pose further setbacks to his future electoral plan."

Trump knows fighting against Mamdami is a losing battle.

Seems a reasonable explanation while this goes on:

Gotta hand it to the champions of democracy and human rights on the US side.
As much as I've criticized the more relaxed tactics in the past, it seems they're working. The US is successfully beating back fascism in a remarkably short time. It took a lot longer in other countries to do the same. And it virtually always required something catastrophic.

I'm very optimistic right now.... even though it's not over yet, and how this all ends is unknown at this time. The Epstein stuff is a major blow, but it's not even that, but Mamdani's election as Mayor of New York City. That's the exclamation point, a turning point, the climax of the story (speaking in Freytagian terms). New York City was a hotbed for Islamophobia in the early 2000s after the September 11th attacks. That was probably the beginning of this movement away from democracy, and toward more authoritarian rule in the US, and then about 2015 we saw a sharp shift in the culture to something darker. I see a big cultural change occurring right now, and it's pleasing to see how Americans are fighting like hell for democracy and human decency.

While it does feel like the end of the Trump era is finally on the horizon, I'm not breathing easy until Dems take back the House in '26 and the White House in '28. Even then we'll still need to unfuck this disaster of a Supreme Court, rebuild institutions like the Department of Education, defund ICE, rebuild guard rails, etc. This damage will take decades to repair and a lot can still go wrong in the meantime.

In another L for the Trump admin, his ridiculous lawsuits against James Comey and Letitia James have been dismissed:

Lindsey Halligan and his other flunkies are going to have a fun time with the bar association when this administration is over.

One of Trump's pet projects of late has been pressuring the state of Colorado to transfer Tina Peters, a felon and former Mesa County court clerk convicted of multiple felones related to election interference, from state to federal custody. She is currently incarcerated at La Vista Correctional Facility, a medium security women's state prison, in Pueblo. This is almost certainly so that Trump can release her. Since she was convicted by the state of Colorado rather than the DoJ, he can't pardon her.

"The United States has experienced one of the largest declines in religiosity globally over the past decade, new research shows.

There has been a 17-percent drop in in the number of U.S. adults who say religion is an important part of their daily life between 2015, when it was 66 percent, and 2025, when it is 49 percent, according to recent Gallup polls.

This is the largest Gallup has recorded in any country over any 10-year period since 2007."

Good. The evangelical churches (and to a lesser degree, other denominations) have been far too complicit in aiding and abetting the crimes of the Trump administration. It's kind of hard to make a case for the church being an arbiter of morality when they support the brutality of ICE, extrajudicial killings, the erosion of democracy, and turn a blind eye to Trump's sex crimes in the name of power.

Trump says 'whole world is watching' Tennessee race as GOP works to avoid disaster - USA Today

Tomorrow, there will be a special election for Tennessee's 7th congressional district, which covers much of the western suburbs of Nashville, including Franklin. The contenders are Democrat Aftyn Behn, and Republican Matt Van Epps.

Trump carried the district by 22 points in 2024. However, while Van Epps is leading, he is only leading by a slim two-point margin within most polls' margin of error, and even if Behn doesn't win, if she wins a close victory in a deep red district, that could signal trouble ahead for the GOP and MAGA in the upcoming 2026 midterms.

Desperate to avoid a humiliating loss that will close the razor-thin margin the GOP holds in the house even further, Trump has falsely accused Behn of "hating Christianity and country music."

Speaker Mike Johnson is apparently so nervous about the election, which could hold his own future in the balance, that he put Trump on speakerphone while campaigning for Van Epps in Tennessee.
