As a side note since I often hear "you guys never say when Trump does something you agree with" from the Totally Not a Trump Fan crowd here's one from recently:

Trump told the Treasury to stop printing pennies. That's an idea I can totally get behind because pennies are stupid and useless, but doing it by an EO is not the correct way. This is something that is supposed to be done by congress. I understand that that's frustrating and everyone hates congress but that's because they're slow by design. You don't want knee jerk reactions when it comes to making big decisions so most everything when it comes to larger governmental decisions is left to congress so they can deliberate and take their time with it. The benefit of losing the penny is not worth the loss of our governing norms.

Edit: I think I could honestly even get behind the recent change to the NIH funding for indirect expenses. I've been in an Nih-Funded lab and always thought it was crazy how much money the college takes. But doing this so quickly is how you fuck over a ton of different research Labs. I'm not sure that legally Trump is in any issue with this one but how it's being done is still poor.

And Rubio is indeed already defending 'owning' Gaza

US secretary of state backs Trump’s Gaza ‘take over’ plan

Secretary of State Marco Rubio has defended President Trump’s suggestion that the US will “take over” and “own” Gaza while expelling more than one million Palestinians from their land.

“Someone’s got to go in … you’ve got to clean it up.  You’ve got to clean all that out of there even before you begin the process of removing rubble and debris and rebuilding housing, like permanent structures.  Who’s going to do that?” Rubio said in a radio interview.

“Right now, the only one who’s stood up and said I’m willing to help do it is Donald Trump. All these other leaders they’re going to have to step up.  If they’ve got a better idea then now is the time,” he added.

“We’re still waiting for more countries to step forward and say here’s what we’re willing to do. And right now, they’ve not been willing to do anything – or at least anything concrete.”

Lol. Lmfao. Rubio is such a spineless cretin and I said I could live with him being Secretary of State.

That isn't what Trump said at all and Rubio knows it, if America's suggestion was "Yeah, we helped Israel destroy Gaza so we will pay to restore it, fix it all for Palestinians and clean the area up, and then we'll leave" then absolutely nobody would take issue with that, but that isn't what Trump is suggesting at all, he is suggesting stealing their land, ethnically cleansing and deporting all Palestinians permanently, so that America can set up fucking hotels and resort fronts to enrich their billionaires.

Better idea: Israel and every country that helped Israel destroy Gaza helps to restore the area, then we all fuck off and leave them alone.

That's a fine idea. I'm also not incapable of praising Tories when they do something that I agree with, for example, Tories did actually take climate change seriously for the most part, they also heavily supported Ukraine and Boris is still a huge supporter of Ukraine. It's just that they do so much other bad shit that the good stuff obviously gets drowned out, Lol.

Egg prices are surging, gas prices are up, and planes are crashing on a near-daily basis.

And this is what the White House is focused on.

Trump Tariffs: EU Says It Will Impose Countermeasures Against US - Bloomberg

Around the Network

Trump’s proposed “land grabs” mean the US is no longer perceived as “an anchor of stability, but rather a risk to be hedged against”, the organisers of the Munich Security Conference have said in their pre-summit report. The report, which takes as its theme the shift from a US-led, unipolar post-cold war era towards a multipolar world in which no single ideological outlook dominates, will form the backdrop to this year’s conference.

The report’s authors suggest a US withdrawal from a global leadership role has implications beyond issues of war and peace: “Without global leadership of the kind provided by the United States for the past several decades, it is hard to imagine the international community providing global public goods like freedom of navigation or tackling even some of the many grave threats confronting humanity.” The authors also say the US president’s effort to assert a new form of US primary will be undermined by the “multipolarisation” trend. Their report includes survey data showing the trend is more likely to be welcomed as a force for good in countries such as Brazil, India, South Africa and China.

US efforts to hamstring China are likely to intensify – but Beijing could also benefit from US withdrawal from international commitments or Washington’s alienation of longstanding partners. The survey, for instance, shows that in every G7 country the risk represented by the US has increased more than the perceived risk posed by Russia.

Cut the crap. State the legal code being broken. Failure to do so proves that you are just talking bullshit and in turn nullifies the first two sentences of your post.

The Impoundment Control Act of 1974

And while this judge didn't state the legal code he was thinking of (from this article at least) he decided that the audit was not being done legally:

I'll let another user's post, that specifically responded to you, speak for itself: https://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=9571094

This judge better have legal standing because knowingly concealing waste, fraud, and abuse is considered a violation under the False Claims Act (FCA). Concealment refers to actively hiding information, failing to disclose relevant details, or taking steps to obstruct investigations.

This is all under the predicate that the judge is knowingly doing this, and that waste, fraud, and abuse is occurring at the Treasury Department. I'll save this post and refer back to it after the legal proceedings.

I'm not going to continue discussion with a person who is clearly trying to find every possible way to misinterpret my post and then proceeds to do just that. If you choose to engage with me in bad faith, there is no meaningful discussion we can possibly have.

You already got what at least seems like a decent answer, but I have nothing to discuss with a person who treats me only with disrespect. You can provoke me all you want, but we're done.

1.) The post you're linking doesn't debunk the claim. It more so talks about how it could be legal. As the other post mentions, it is legal for the President to shut down USAID, and run that funding through a different agency. It is not legal for them to prevent the funding from being spent how Congress has decided.

2.) Procedures are still important. If the police for example don't follow legal procedures to getting evidence, that evidence can get thrown out. There are criminal cases that have gotten thrown out, because of that.

It's not enough to know that a crime is happening (allegedly), there are procedures in place to protect people's rights and privacy.

can we change the name of this thread to "Trump sucks" ?
