Concealment refers to actively hiding information, failing to disclose relevant details, or taking steps to obstruct investigations. This is all under the predicate that the judge is knowingly doing this, and that waste, fraud, and abuse is occurring at the Treasury Department. I'll save this post and refer back to it after the legal proceedings. |
1.) The post you're linking doesn't debunk the claim. It more so talks about how it could be legal. As the other post mentions, it is legal for the President to shut down USAID, and run that funding through a different agency. It is not legal for them to prevent the funding from being spent how Congress has decided.
2.) Procedures are still important. If the police for example don't follow legal procedures to getting evidence, that evidence can get thrown out. There are criminal cases that have gotten thrown out, because of that.
It's not enough to know that a crime is happening (allegedly), there are procedures in place to protect people's rights and privacy.
