April 2020 is the Switch's equivalent month to December 2023 for PS5/XSX. The Switch already had it's big AC month in March 2020 where it sold 868k units in the USA, and in April it sold 688k. So the big AC/Covid month has already passed but it's going to stay at a high average of 560k/month for the next 6 months, we've entered Switch's peak year during the covid months.

Global Charts and data have been updated to December 2023. Throughout the last year launch aligned the PS5 has outsold the PS4 by 3.9m and the PS3 by 8.4m. The Xbox Series has had the worst Months 27-38 of any tracked console except the Vita and Wii U, selling 2.2m less than the XBO and 3.7m less than the X360. The Switch through months 71-82 has outsold the 3DS by 9.1m but sold 0.7m less than the NDS.

From this point onward the gap between PS5 and Switch will only increase. But it's still quite the achievement to keep up with Switch until the 55 milion mark, especially considering the massive shortages PS5 faced in 2022. With a bit of luck PS5 might be able to do 20 million this year (if it has a decent Q4 line up) and thanks to GTA VI will most likely have a very successful 2026 too, after that numbers should drop a bit.

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar

Switch outpacing the long-legged 360 and PS4 for the past 12 months is nice to see.

Didn't realize PS5 was still tracking behind PS4 at this point despite its huge 3rd year. Guess the lack of exclusives or a price cut are cutting into its comparative numbers. Still, I expect it will catch up and overtake in the long term.

Xbox Series... yikes, 3rd worse year 3 on record. MS better pray Hellblade and Indiana Jones live up to the hype, or even 45 million might be out of reach.

The PS5pro, and FF7 Rebirth, Rise of the Ronin, Wolverine?, Silent Hill 2 remake, Deaths Stranding 2, TLoU p2 remake,....

plus whatever hasn't been announced yet.

I think PS5 can do another 21-22m sales this year.

From the Developer Direct.

Indiana Jones was not a 3rd person adventure game, but a 1st person one, with odd looking combat (with the whip, and gun), and more puzzle solveing than combat. I suspect this is going to dissapoint some, that where wishing for a xbox version of Uncharted.  I think the story elements will carry this.

Hellblade, was announced to be a smaller slimmer experiance, than the first game.
Ei. 8-9hours or so to beat.

Avowed and Visions of Mana, looked good though.
Ara History untold... looks nice too, though its a genre that might not be everyones cup of tea.

I dont think the games this year, will make xbox sell more hardware than last year.

Like read this thread on Indy (from resetera) (pretty pro xbox site now tbh):
https://www.resetera.com/threads/indiana-jones-and-the-great-circle-releasing-late-2024-first-person-with-third-person-mixed-in.806934/

Alot of people seem turned off by what they saw of it.

I would be surprised If it didn't decline this year but we'll see. I think 2023 was the peak, it sold 2m more than the PS4 peak. I'm expecting around the 19-20.5m range this year. If it managed to post 21m+ again I would be very pleasantly surprised. 2023 had the advantage of being the first year with readily available stock. We'll see how Sony manages to drive sales of ps5 this year.
