Finished Ghostwire: Tokyo.

Decent game but not much more than that.

Performance is abysmal even when using performance mode. Story didn't catch me but also isn't very deep.

On the plus side, probably the best rendition of Tokyo I've seen in a video game. Shame that only ghosts roam the streets.

Combat is decent but doesn't really evolve much the more you play.

Main story isn't that long (took me 8 hours to finish) but there are tons of side quests (that I didn't touch lol) so overall content is quite decent. However as I mentioned above, it's pretty light on the story side. A few hours of the 8 I spent following the main quest is basically just traversing and unlocking new parts of the city which might as well count as a side activity.

7.5/10

More expansions on the way!

Good news. Some were worried they were going to abandon it with far less premiun DLC than other singleplayer BGS games have gotten (between 2 and 5 premium story DLC's), but it seems like Starfield has legged well enough for them to support it for longer instead of moving on to Fallout 5 sooner.

Conversely however, the confirmation that Fallout 5 is not currently in development at Bethesda means we are probably looking at a 2032 release at the earliest, as development on it presumably won't start until Starfield's final premium story DLC releases in either 2025 or 2026, and won't enter full development until Elder Scrolls 6 releases in probably 2028-2029.

Xbox badly needs to get Obsidian on a Fallout game once Avowed releases, it's our only hope of a major new Fallout game releasing at any point before 2032 I'm sure. I suppose that inXile could do it as well, but Obsidian can get working on one much sooner since Avowed is a 2024 release and Clockwork Revolution is 2025 or 2026.

Looks like it’s become successful enough to be considered a core franchise.

Not only an impressive number of players, but the average amount of time players are spending in the game.

I have a bad feeling a Fallout 3 remaster is all BGS were betting on. I’m sure Phil is lighting that fire though to get more out. Hopefully that means something like an Obsidian made game.

Talking about Bethesda, after recently finishing both Fallout 4 and Ghostwire Tokyo I just started Redfall lol. Three Bethesda games in a row.
Anyway, the game really isn't so bad. Played it for five hours straight. I guess the updates helped but I don't know the state of the game when it was released.
Doesn't mean it's super awesome but it's worth a look. I'd still say the game is better in co-op though.

I was actually tempted on doing a post-mortem article and see what's been done since then.  Because I was almost tempted to outright drop it and let someone else review it.  Giving it a consistent fps and removing that inherent micro-lag when aiming is already a marked improvement.

The default controller settings in this game are pretty poor though so aiming feels off. But with the necessary adjustments it plays quite well.

Dunno why some devs just can't get it right in this day and age.
