Anyway, the game really isn't so bad. Played it for five hours straight. I guess the updates helped but I don't know the state of the game when it was released.
Doesn't mean it's super awesome but it's worth a look. I'd still say the game is better in co-op though.

I was actually tempted on doing a post-mortem article and see what's been done since then.  Because I was almost tempted to outright drop it and let someone else review it.  Giving it a consistent fps and removing that inherent micro-lag when aiming is already a marked improvement.
