Good news. Some were worried they were going to abandon it with far less premiun DLC than other singleplayer BGS games have gotten (between 2 and 5 premium story DLC's), but it seems like Starfield has legged well enough for them to support it for longer instead of moving on to Fallout 5 sooner. Conversely however, the confirmation that Fallout 5 is not currently in development at Bethesda means we are probably looking at a 2032 release at the earliest, as development on it presumably won't start until Starfield's final premium story DLC releases in either 2025 or 2026, and won't enter full development until Elder Scrolls 6 releases in probably 2028-2029. Xbox badly needs to get Obsidian on a Fallout game once Avowed releases, it's our only hope of a major new Fallout game releasing at any point before 2032 I'm sure. I suppose that inXile could do it as well, but Obsidian can get working on one much sooner since Avowed is a 2024 release and Clockwork Revolution is 2025 or 2026. |
Looks like it’s become successful enough to be considered a core franchise.
Not only an impressive number of players, but the average amount of time players are spending in the game.
I have a bad feeling a Fallout 3 remaster is all BGS were betting on. I’m sure Phil is lighting that fire though to get more out. Hopefully that means something like an Obsidian made game.
