Yeah, Ubisoft has been disappointing people alot here lately. They haven't really had a big hit in both sales and reviews since AC Valhalla in 2020, everything else they have released since then either had lackluster sales, lackluster reviews, or both. I really think they need to give up on chasing GaaS and get back to doing what made people love their games to begin with, fun open worlds without the tedium of too much content (too long, too many collectibles, too many low effort open world activities and randomized quests) and good storylines.

Sadly, their CEO, Yves Guillemot, has managed to release constant flops these last several years, driving their stock value down to less than 25% of what it was at it's peak in 2021, from $20.78 a share down to $4.84 a share. At this point he sees GaaS as the only way to fix their stock value, when chasing GaaS is the very thing that is causing their games to flop these days. I don't know if things will ever improve as long as Yves remains at the helm. I hope that AC Red later this year will be good, Yves did suggest it would be a smaller game than the oversized AC Valhalla, which is nice, but I don't know how much smaller. I also hope the rumored Black Flag remake is indeed happening and is good, unlike Skull and Bones.

AC Red's map I believe will be larger than Valhalla's but smaller than Odysseys.  I enjoy long games so I hope it still takes me forever to get through it, I just don't want it to feel like it's all unnecessary filler.  I say keep the RPG ACs large, and keep the non-RPG ones smaller.  For sure no GaaS.

I don't mind a larger map, I just want less filler content on that map. AC Valhalla had so much of it, the map was dotted with so many icons. It took me 143 hours to do all of the base game content, Ireland DLC content, France DLC content, and Isle of Skye DLC content according to Exophase, and base game alone was at least 110 hours I think. If you want to make a 100+ hour RPG Assassin's Creed game, I have no problems with it, but at least 2/3rds of that playtime should be main and side quests with story to them imo. DO NOT make the game like Valhalla where at least half of your playtime ends up being so many open world activities that they become repetitive (viewpoint syncing, Cairns, Standing Stones, Animus Glitches, Mushroom drug trips, Flyting contests, etc.) and too many collectibles (Ingots, Fireflys, Flying Papers, Cursed Symbols, Roman Artifacts, Treasure Maps, etc.).

AC Odyssey was big too, I think I spent at least 110 hours on it, but it felt less repetitive for sure, as did Origins before it (though it was a bit smaller, like 80 hours to do everything). Odyssey reminded me of the best open world RPG's like Witcher 3 and Skyrim, where doing all content never feels grindy or stale, whereas Valhalla really felt like a grind to me at times, which definitely hampered my enjoyment somewhat.

AC:Red puts me onto a deep predicament. On one hand it’s feudal Japan which I love but on the other … it’s Ubisoft and the idea of spending 200+hrs in another Ubisoft game just ….. make’s me want to vomit. I just utterly despise their game design and know Red is just gonna be another Ubisoft game. Valiant Hearts is pretty good tho but this was at a time when you didn’t need an Ubisoft account just to get past the main menu lol

Dents at xbox can't even advertise their gamepass drops. Ureal.

Strange that MH Stories got skipped.

See, this is why we are having those rumors and people constantly coming up with stuff:

https://www.msn.com/en-ca/entertainment/other/xbox-s-phil-spencer-announces-day-one-release-of-all-activision-games-on-xbox-game-pass-is-call-of-duty-included/ar-BB1iFTUa?ocid=msedgntp&pc=U531&cvid=a01ccd5509d14706aeb3691a14018fe5&ei=39

The title SAYS that ALL Activision games will be on GamePass day one.. And STILL, the journalist starts some shit wondering if Call of Duty will also be day one... When the previous statement already confirmed that. Go figure why people are all confused or starts rumors... Even when you say something is "black", someone will ask something like "so it is not 100% certain that it is not white? right?"

The medias are the worse...

"This is what it means to be a part of Xbox:
- The biggest games in the world will be on Xbox. "

.... but not Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. Just not big enough.

And yes, I do find it comical that suddely Dead Island 2 is on Gamepass with zero fanfare. Pretty cool game!

And more serious. Why do we need Limited Run games for producing a physical copy of Hifi Rush? Crazy.

Or Remake Intergrade

Or the Pixel Remasters...:(

Double Eleven is helping Obsidian port Grounded to the other platforms.

Dead Island 2 has been on my radar for a few months but was waiting on a sale. When I saw it was added to Game Pass last night that was an immediate download. Very nice surprise!

So the first AAAA from Ubislop … flopped 😂 🤌🤌
