Alright adding a second hint to these titles:

20) This game actually has two titular characters, though it's easy to assume it's the same one
Hint 2: But neither of these two characters are the protagonist

19) To be honest I hated the target practice mini-game
Hint 2: And wasn't too keen on the one where you balance an ice cream either

18) Joor-Zah-Frul
Hint 2: Wuld-Nah-Kest

17) Only one line is uttered in this game's entire story mode
Hint 2: It's a pretty iconic catchphrase of the character in question, but this game is not where it originates from

16) Though sales numbers have never been revealed this is probably one of the most profitable games of all-time
Hint 2: And though I'm sure they sold an awful lot of physical boxes, most of the profit didn't come from game sales themselves

17 - This game is technically a first person shooter, but because from one point on you'll only want to use a certain weapon and it gets to be more of a hack-and-slash instead.
Hint 2: This weapon is blue and glowing. It's very awesome.

16 - Seem like a fairly big game, especially for its time, but really it only needs to take up to 60 minutes.
Hint 2: The Super Nintendo version though, doubled the limit to 120 minutes

17 Halo. 16 Prince of Persia

Prince of Persia is correct!

Halo is a fitting guess, could have been it going by the hint I admit, but that's not the one I mean.

Duh. It's just dawned on me what franchise it'll probably be... no idea what game...

Star Wars Battlefront maybe? Or is that third person? I don't keep track.

That franchise is correct yes, but it's not Battlefront. I don't know about the newer games because I never played those, but the original two at least were as far as I remember primarily third person view, though I think you could change your perspective to first person at some points.

My only other guess would be Dark Forces or it's sequel, as I'm not sure lightsabers were ever in the original.

No new takers for these yet, time for some more.

20 - Some Magic Potion here, some Magic Potion there.
Hint 2: And then the AI adds some legions here, and some legions there.
Hint 3: It won't stop you from getting from your small village of indomitable people that still holds out against the invaders, all the way to the Alps though.
Hint 4: As you conquer region by region on your way there, be sure to conquer the seven regions that feature mini-games, because those are required for victory.

19 - This game features a couple recorders that are originally from another game.
Hint 2: It even features the same tune and the same effect when you use one.
Hint 3: The game calls them "Recorder", both in my game as in the original it comes from, but that's a translation error really which was common back then. It doesn't record anything, it's a flute, really.

17 - This game is technically a first person shooter, but because from one point on you'll only want to use a certain weapon and it gets to be more of a hack-and-slash instead.

15 - The news ticker for some reason often talks about broccoli related stuff.

20: Asterix, the strategy game on PS1

#20

YoY: -1      My Rating: 9.3/10

The best game PlatinumGames has ever made, and the first game where Yoko Taro had the budget to match his storytelling vision. I've been a fan of both for a long time, but neither one has done anything else on the level of this game before or since. Nier: Automata is one of the rare examples of a story that could only really be told in a video game. There are elements of the story that I won't spoil, which would not really work in any other medium. Part of the reason is because those elements are also part of the gameplay, so taking one out would also impact the other. The story itself is also excellent in general, dealing with themes of existence, humanity, the value of life, and many others.

One of the main reasons Nier: Automata is this high on my list, besides the exceptional gameplay, great story, and one of the best video game soundtracks of the last decade, is the sheer emotional impact it had on me. Though there were numerous moments throughout that will likely remain with me for a very long time, there is also a specific scene in this game that basically forced me to take a break from the game. Again, I won't spoil it, but this makes Nier: Automata one of exactly two games that have had such a resounding impact on me that I've had to put down the controller for a while and just reflect on what just happened and try to accept it.

Soo close. Dark Forces didn't have lightsabers no, that one is all first person shooter. But it spawned the Jedi Knight series, its sequel, which are first person until you get a lightsaber (or after if you continue to use blasters but who would want to do that?!). I might as well give it to you because there's no point in making you guess between sequels, all two of them (discounting MotS and JA), but in the first Jedi Knight ("Dark Forces II"), Kyle Katarn had a green lightsaber while in Jedi Outcast, it is blue. So Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast it is.

I might still have the game somewhere at my parents' house, though I'm not sure. I used to play it a lot.
