Correct!

Here's the one line in question (first 20 seconds):

Try out my free game on Steam

2025 OpenCritic Prediction Leagues

19 - This game features a couple recorders that are originally from another game.
Hint 2: It even features the same tune and the same effect when you use one.
Hint 3: The game calls them "Recorder", both in my game as in the original it comes from, but in the original that was translation error to English which was common back then. It doesn't record anything, it's a flute, really.
Hint 4: In this game, three can be found, and they can be used to whirlwind you to another world. Guessed by drbunnig - Super Mario Bros. 3

17 - This game is technically a first person shooter, but because from one point on you'll only want to use a certain weapon and it gets to be more of a hack-and-slash instead.
Hint 2: This weapon is blue and glowing. It's very awesome. Guessed by drbunnig - Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast

16 - Seem like a fairly big game, especially for its time, but really it only needs to take up to 60 minutes.
Hint 2: The Super Nintendo version though, doubled the limit to 120 minutes. Guessed by drbunnig - Prince of Persia

15 - The news ticker for some reason often talks about broccoli related stuff.
Hint 2: I guess that's all that been going on if your Transport or Environmental or one of the other advisors have nothing to report.

14 - This game is a treasure trove of cheesy oneliners.

Super Mario Bros 3.

Also, a recorder is a word for a musical instrument similar to a flute (or warp whistle in this instance), though not sure if it's exclusively a British / English thing.

What game are they originally from btw (assuming I'm correct?)

Correct, and, Zelda 1. The renamed it to Warp Whistle in Mario and Flute in Zelda later though.

Ah right, cool, thanks. It's been so long since I played the original Zelda that I forgot about this. I'll be sure to remember now though.

YoY: -1      My Rating: 9.3/10

Inarguably the most successful and most influential JRPG of all time, Final Fantasy VII very much lives up to the hype, even if certain elements haven't aged the most gracefully. Look past those things, and at its core Final Fantasy VII is still an absolutely brilliant game. Even then, the few aspects that don't quite hold up are mostly due to the game's age and the era it was made in. The graphics are naturally dated, and some moments would probably no longer be alright, but the one aspect that hurts the game the most, is its honestly quite shoddy localization. The translation into English is simply not good, with numerous errors, weird and awkward sentences, and even moments that were unintentionally changed from the original due to poor localization.

One of the most brilliant aspects of Final Fantasy VII is the decision to make its main character an unreliable narrator. We get to witness numerous events from Cloud Strife's point of view, yet we don't learn until much later that his recollection of events is at best incomplete, and at worst completely fabricated. This gives the game a sense of mystery, since if the player pays attention from the start they will begin to notice some strange inconsistencies Cloud's story as the game progresses. This is also the source of many of the game's most important and well-known twists, the only thing holding the story back being the poor translation that often leaves certain aspects of the story somewhat unclear.

Final Fantasy VII also features a wonderfully flexible battle system built around the game's use of Materia as a source of abilities and stats. There are countless different combinations that the player can tinker around with. The game's world is also among the most iconic of all time, with location like Midgar, the Northern Crater, Cosmo Canyon, and others being fondly remembered for a very good reason. Finally, it also has one of the all-time great video game soundtracks by Nobuo Uematsu. Again, it's not without its flaws, but they do very little to detract from its overall excellence.

And now we’re back to telltale with their final (well until whatever’s happening now with the split studios) outing as a company, and what a damn good way to close out. A fantastic conclusion to Clementine’s story with some great new characters and finally a return to form in grounded storytelling after the quite frankly terrible Seasons 2 & 3. Choices actually matter again, really cool relationships form, and multiple awesome and extremely satisfying twists pop up throughout. A beautiful and wonderful finale to this series

Top 20!

#20 - This critically-acclaimed shooter will eventually get a reboot with the same name, once the studio behind it is fully staffed.

#19 - I suppose you could use the title of this game to describe a high-quality From Software game.

#18 - I can't hear Bobby Darin without thinking of this game.

#17 - If you don't have an e-Reader, you better get the GBA version of this game on WiiU before the eShop shuts down in March.

#16 - A character introduced in this game became the hero in its prequel, and then went on to star in his own series.
