Just because NSW has all 30, don't think Nintendo is immune to the decline in physical sales either.

NSW peak years still selling less SW than Nintendo's peak years in past generations.

Yeah because Nintendo usually has two platforms and now has one. Profitwise is better. And this demonstrates Sony losing almost all its retail presence in Japan, and Japan is stronger in retail market. And the market with NSW have grow in Japan, in the software department when compared to the years of dominance of Sony ( Ps4 years).

Honestly I always disliked that people predict something while we have no clue whats going to happen next year.

Their are so many 'if' 'can' 'may' possibilities.

If Nintendo comes with a newer version or a new console it will have a huge influence on next year sales.

Can Nintendo ship 4 million consoles?

May some particular game release next year. New mainline DQ game for example exclusive to the Switch.

Can their be a significant price cut.

I think that Nintendo has remaining stock of 3DSs but rather ship it out worldwide. It would save money to keep them within Japan. So Nintendo has probably been sporadically shipping 3DS units to stores in Japan which can explain the 3DS hardware numbers.

I think the Japanese software market is going to crash around 2023 - 2025. There is no PS5 software in sight and the Nintendo Switch is on the decline in software sales. 30th place on the charts will probably soon be <1000 units which has not been seen since the early 90s. I don’t think there will be any sort of issue like that in other markets though as Nintendo is not declining as much or even up year in those markets. And also, PlayStation and Xbox have a decent market share in other regions.

The Switch is declining in software sales? Where are we seeing that? And why would the entire market crash because of that?

When the Vita and Wii U had better software sales in the same period you know you're screwed. Sony's more Western focused direction combined with 3rd parties also making that jump is hurting PS as a whole.

The Market decreased when Sony "dominated" Japanese market, last year has decreased a little, but is bigger than dark years (2013 -2016). Digital estimates for white book I don´t remember are accurate.
