Forums - Sales Discussion - Marvel's Spiderman (remastered) is coming to PC! (and sold-through over 33million copies)

Congrats for Spider-Man and Insominiac, but I don't think SM+MM will sell 15M on PC. From the other 1st party titles we have seem they add like 10% to the total sales perhaps 20% at most, you are expecting almost 50% increase.

God of War did somewhere between 2m-4m sales, the first month of its release on pc. (the minimum was 2mil)
We dont have any accurate new numbers, on how its doing, but I assume as time went on, its keeping on selling decently.
Its been like 5months since its release. I'm actually pretty curious now, how well its selling on pc.

Maybe your right, and 15m on pc alone is not doable for spiderman.
I assume atleast 5m should be a brease for it though, so I guess its a question of where it ends up total lifetime wise (40m or 50m?).

Web slinging in over 100fps is gonna feel really good.

No it didn't.

Sony released numbers for GOW on PC 2 weeks ago.  About a million copies in 2 months.

didnt see that one.

I just googled how much god of war pc sold, and got a article like this one:
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/god-of-war-has-reportedly-surpassed-2-million-sales-on-pc/

stateing it's player count suggested 2m-4m range.

okay, guess I should temper my expectations abit.

Those are a truly huge numbers.

If Spiderman 2 hits the mark and exceeds the first game, Sony have an absolute monster franchise on their hands.

I wonder if lightening can strike twice with Insomniac and Wolverine?

I can see Wolverine clearing 20M+ lifetime easily. The IP and character are huge.

5M for both titles Lifetime is doable I guess, even more if the sequel releases or movies help breath some air into its sales.

40M for total sales is also very likely, 50M i think would be to optimistic.

Sony deserves a lot of credit for making the SpiderMan franchise as massive as it is today with how they handled the IP. Its one of the few franchises that has generated billions of dollars from a variety of mediums (movies, video games, comics).

Spider Man is a much more known and popular IP then anything Sony has ported so far.

Worse Spider man games have sold good numbers on PC, So maybe they might not get 15 million sales but remember they will be selling for years and years as PC games mostly take off slow but build up over time.

Show me a Spider-Man game before this 2 that sold 15M total, much less on PC only.

Show me where i said it would sell 15 million?.

Ok, then give us what good numbers were those on PC to substantiate your claim of good numbers in a context of selling 15M on PC for these 2 titles combined.

I'll give you a hint https://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=9383257

When the only company capable of making the investment to deliver a great Spider-Man is a platform holder what would you expect?
