As bad as the PR has been for this game - GT7 youtubers have been doing really well, and I've been watching so much of it even though I have no interest in buying the game.

Seems to be one of those cases, where the game has terrible PR to the average gamer, but those that are actually playing it seem to be having a blast. Except when the servers are down! lol

Hopefully not all that much.

No micro transactions during the review period so it got great scores because at it's core, lit has an excellent gameplay loop. Then they reduce amount of credits earned with another update further increasing reliability of said MTX. Some cars cost around $200 USD. What a joke.

Cars can cost 8 times or more than they did in the previous game.

You also can't play most of the game if you're offline... Bro.... I can play Gamepass offline.

This is shady af. I haven't really seen this bought up to much here but I do remember Forza being dragged through the mud for much less, though still bad.

I can't help but feel like this is another sign that arrogant Sony may be back.

Like FIFA? How much criticism does that game and EA get every year amd it still sells absurdly well.

It takes genuine talent to see greatness in yourself despite your absence of genuine talent.

Probably like 15M more than it deserves, especially if it eventually comes out on PC. Like others have said, online backslash usually does not have a very strong effect in the real world.

That was exactly my thought. If this wasn't a successful formula, Polyphony, EA, Activision, etc. wouldn't be trying so hard to put these types of business practices into their games.

We are minority on this topic and it makes me weary about Sony's future live service plans. If they pushed for MTX in a full priced game, I can't imagine what tactics they'll use on FTP live service games like the rumored Twisted Metal. Only games I'm interested in from Sony are their completely 100% single player games without MTX, and that's what I'm going to stick with.

That's my thought. I officially stoped renwing my ps+. its small but its the only thing I can do right now.

Its been at the top of the UK charts for 3 weeks, so im expecting at least 10m. It was launched during the PS5s aweful stock drought, so im not expecting legs to die but rather sustain as stock improves over the summer/autumn. Also this is the earliest a full fledged GT has launched for a PS system since the PS2 days, so I'm expecting it'll be selling for a good few years yet.

There's an update coming in April that will add some features, cars, and will rebalance the rewards, you will also be able to sell cars

I think the game will continue to sell very well.

Edit: I think it will become the best selling Gran Turismo and will cross the 20 million units sold.

Personally I feel like the general decline of GT as a franchise is more what will hurt its sales than the current negative PR. GT7 actually has a lot more buzz than GT Sport or GT6 (which were passed by many and certainly didn't have the online presence that 7 has).

With or without bundles? I guess it will get at least one bundle this holiday which will boost sales a lot like how older GT games, Uncharted, Halo and other franchises got huge boosts as well from.
